Default More obscure history....Nothern most Confederate attack

Ok, some of us who chose to,, had some fun and learned some things in the battle of Oriskany thread

Let's do some more obscure history:

Gettysburg is sometimes referred to as the northern most “battle” of the civil war

There was however, a Confederate attack much father north ( Lets avoid if we can, the semantics of the term “battle’ for now)

While it was a blip on the screen in the total picture, it did have some wide ranging and military political implications at the time

Discuss….

I think it was more of a bank robbery in Vermont than an actual military engagement, but maybe the confederate soldiers were really doing it for the confederacy. Color me skeptical that these guys weren't out for themselves when they were doing this.

I know more about both subjects than you do, and I don't have to look things up to make posts about them, unlike you.

Tell me, where did you find the time for both the MA in History and the MBA in five years? Although, to tell the truth, if you did have a MA in History you wouldn't have made so many mistakes when talking about Constantine.

Dom, really man... I hope you pulled your MA out of the shredder in time. You are hardly a flawless source of in formation.

Unlike fatty, I don't need google searches to make posts on the subject of history. Maybe you should consider that wikipedia isn't a flawless source of information and those who copy it and pass if off as their own aren't either. Or do you also think that 350 deaths would be one of the bloodiest battles of the war?

There was a series of bank robberies near the Canadian border by confederate soldiers, I am just skeptical as to whether it was really for military purposes rather than outright greed by those who were robbing the banks.

It is sad, pathetic and funny all at once

flawless source of information ?

Dude, he is a babbling idiot...and is famous for it

Anyone in their right mind after being so soundly exposed as being completely ignorant on a subject, would just sneak away and STFU, but the Dum1 cant help himself

Quasi knowledge is one downside of the information age, Lucky thing it is so easy to spot

I still fail to see where she copied anything from wiki on the other thread. Your assertion that it was not bloody enough to make the list is opinion. Nothing more.

However, considering your last performance, perhaps you should check some sources before you reply with such force and arrogance, if for no other reason than to keep from looking foolish and then trying to save face by drawing issue with terms like bloodiest when the most pertinant clues where actually "least known battle" and "North American natives (Tory, Whig, and native Americans)". Trying to seize on this term "bloodiest" as a defense is lame at best.

I'm not saying you don't know your stuff, but maybe your zeal to beat down Smart got in the way of the facts. I'm just saying a quick reference check would have prevented that, even from wiki.
