I, for once, agree with beginagain. Hitler was not a liberal in the historical meaning of the word. However, Hitler was a "progressive", which is what the liberals of today actually are. Hitler was for a strong state government controlling the lives of all around him. Many of the pet beliefs of the Progressive Democrats today were shared by Hitler (and Mussolini who actually founded fascism).

Exactly who isn't for big government? I don't know any major politician who stands for smaller government. Has anyone called for cuts in Medicare? Social Security? No. So really everyone is like the Nazis in your little descripton. And which Politicians call for more military spnding, like Hitler did?
