Hello "Canuck", I read your Post: and like "rob" I find them facinating and filled with intregue & question: You obviously have loads of information regarding all of this that most of us would never have, and I have no way of seperating facts & fiction regarding any of this. Like "rob" says, its now nearly 50 years ago, and questions still remain; and perhaps we will never know with any reasonable certainty what or why this actually happened.

I guess my question with all of this would be if this most convoluted & subversive incident is still not resolved, how can we ever expect our government to survive and function in an accuntable manner in today's ever increasing chaotic world? JFK was at serious odds with Prime Minister Diefenbaker as well, Canuck - and for exactly the opposite reasons... Diefenbaker was refusing to take the nuclear weapons that the US was trying to shove off on Canada. And look at Kennedy's nuclear policy with NATO - he offered to provide the Europeans with nuclear weapons as part of his proposed Multi-Lateral Force. Given that Kennedy was so free with nuclear weapons where it came to his allies, why would it have been so difficult for Israel to believe he would have eventually come around to their point of view?

I don't buy the whole theory that Ben Gurion resigned because of Kennedy - he was a volatile personality and his behavior was entirely consistent with his history. He resigned as Prime Minister in 1953 only to come back again in 1955 - just like he returned to politics in 1965 after resigning in 1963. I think his reasons both times was due entirely to domestic politics, pure and simple - there's nothing to indicate that anything else outside of that factored into his decision at either time.

I don't know a whole lot about all of the minutae of Permindex connection and all of the rest (wasn't Garrison's case against Shaw generally accepted to have been a farce?), but I think where it comes to the strategic mindset of Kennedy, Ben Gurion, and Eshkol, your post seems way off the mark.

Perhaps... but in all of the "evidence of a conspiracy" that has been dredged up over the years, I've never seen anyone cite these two pictures.

I think LBJ was confronted with the situation of the President being assassinated by someone who had spent time in the Soviet Union (and who himself was conveniently dead) and decided that finding out exactly what happened wasn't worth the risk of starting World War III, so he put the fix in on the Warren Commission. He knew Kennedy was planning to assassinate Castro, and probably figured that backfired on him in some way.... if he probed into it and found that the KGB was behind it, what do you do then?? Better to make sure the Commission came up with a canned answer and be done with it - and let history decide if he was right or wrong in 50 years or so.

I have never seen them either, yes. Now the argument comes from as I see it. What the mean.
