Paying for Fat people
Congress should force insurance companies to give discounts to people who meet and maintain a certain physical fitness level. Healthy people are subsidizing the fat people in this health care pool.
Congress must do this because the insurance companies IMO benefit from a higher level of healthcare costs. Bigger total pie, bigger total cut for them. Insurance companies and doctors seeking to retire in 10 years time will never do this without a government mandate.
Similarily I would like to see airlines charge by the pound. You and your luggage.

I think Congress should stay out of it and everything else.

The stupidest things ever spoken usually start with "There ought to be a law..." and then Congress steps in and royally fucks it up.

Now let me get this "LOGIC" right.....fat people are putting to much of a burden upon the health care system...by making "all" share in the cost of their continued health...right? I "ENJOY"...this selective reasoning. Well what if I said...."POOR PEOPLE"....are putting to much of a burden on our "TAX" system of resdistribution of the wealth in this nation...........I thought that all "LIBRALS" wanted the sharing of all public monies...to be collected....from the ones that have(money) and equally "PASSED" among the "LESS FORTUNATE"....hey...it's the liberal american way...to take from the haves and give to the have nots....so what is the problem in sharing our health care costs to the poor little "FAT PEOPLE"......oh..it is different...when it comes directly from...."Your" pocket.....well...freinds....the government is US...and all monies come from our pocket....circular...slective...reason to logic is just plain..."HYPOCRITICAL".....BD

The idea is to get people to have financial benefit to losing weight. Weight is a big factor in a persons health and therefore healthcare costs. If you believe in the "market" this should bring the cost of healthcare down for everyone. And we should reward people for being healthy, because you are right, in the end we all pay, so lets incentivize fat asses to get up and walk a mile or two each day.

I do not know...what politics...you practice....but to take such stance on this subject....and the idea...put forth....I assume you must be liberal....for to believe that it is wrong/right on the same polar end of cognation to thought and logic...can come only from the mind of a "LIBERAL". The duality of the liberal thought process with its selective logic...merely confuses people like me.....now stop...my head hurts....BD

Your assuming all fat people are lazy? Do you take into account genes, stress, slow matabolism, adrenal glands, medications taken, health problems not associated with being obese, menapause, hormones, ect.
Any or all of these can contribute to people being "fat".

No I'm not. I'm assuming all fat people could be less fat if they walked a mile or two a day. Jared of Subway fame comes to mind. I wonder what his excuse was for all those years of being overweight.
