This is a rather ill thought out idea.
Little Sally loses her dog. When she is at school, you run to the clone shop and have old rover reincarnated. Little Sally is none the wiser and goes about her life thinking Rover never died.
The Problems with that, is you need to allow people (especially) Children the oppurtinity to deal with loss. If they don't they will have a hell of a time when they become adults.

I am not sure how I feel about cloning but I think just because you can do it doesn't mean that we should do it.

It may not be "a no harm safe kind of thing". Very little new technology is. But that doesn't justify condemning the research. Research is how you find out things.
Computers are not completely "no harm safe things" either, but they sure have aided development in many areas. The fact that they are also used in very destructive ways, could have been reason enough to stop their development, according to the way some people believe.

Teak, are you opposed to human cloning?
I’m not really opposed to animal cloning for research, but not ready to cross the line with human cloning.

I think more research needs to be done. A lot more information is required before I will support, or oppose, human cloning. Slow and easy, is my recomendation, slow and easy.

Cloning can (in theory) do a lot of good. Growing organs for critically ill. Bringing back extinct species. Providing cattle for impoverished and starving populace's.
On the down side.
Cloning an army
The Social Impact of allowing Cloned humans to live (I can imagine clones being a hated section of the popualce)
Allow the deadly combination of irreversable genetic engineering on humanity.
The list of Cons against pros, is usually heavily stacked on the cons. We need to use the technology wisely.
It was said before by someone whose name escapes me. That technology is surpassing humanity, at a rapid level. We may not have the mental capacity or forethought to use some of the breakthroughs in science we are chugging ahead, lately.
