Health care reform has to start with ...
the docs. Anybody here think that you can't get a better diagnosis from a computer than from a doctor? And is there anybody who thinks that a computer can't do a better job of prescribing than a doctor?
Those guys are overpaid, overprotected, and whine waaaay to much.

I would prefer to see a real person instead of a computer. Yes Doctors make a lot of money but then how much do they have to pay for malpractice insurance?

>>>There have been plenty of times when I would have rather seen a computer. And docs DO have to pay a lot for malpractice insurance, but that's because they fuck up a lot.

So don't go to a doctor. Set home and use the remedies handed down by your great grand mother, or try this:

Ah, you have masterfully framed the problem with a silver bullet solution and an evil villian to blame for all the problems.
You must be a disciple of Karl Rove.

Rob...It depends upon if they want to stay registered at a hospital or not. If they do not keep hospital priviledges then they can get compartively cheap insurance which will pay claims up to $200,000.00. The hospital requires much more. (amount unknown) Otherwise yes, they pay a lot.

I would say that it depends upon which Doctors fed the info to the computer. Lets say the top docs did so...then yes, I would go for that. Yes, I know, of course they would use the very best dr's, but I would always have some trepidation about that.

Not enough to justify how much they make. Particularly the general physicians, a computer could easily do that job, the surgeons are a different story completely.
