Default Conscious or Soul?

I've heard many times that Republicans are souless money grubbers and that Democrats are with out a conscious for right and wrong if it will gain them popularity.

Now, what I want to address is what's worse: your motivation being money or your motivation being popularity?

They both are selfish, but they end up having different reactions. And, one reaction has to be worse than the other.

Loaded question. I won't sell myself out due to popular opinion or what is politically correct to say, but also I wouldn't say I am motivated by money. Those that know me, know I am about thrifty as they come, but I also will help someone else save a buck, too. So, in my own opinion, I am not guilty of either, but find that motivation of popularity turns to greed to feed the ego. So, I guess they go hand in hand, what political party do I represent then?

I really meant to just ask which was the worse vice: being the person that would run over anybody to get what they want or being the person that would do anything and loose all of their morals to have popularity.
