GUNS DON'T KILL PEOPLE, BULLETS DO - Sequel
I got a lot of negative responses on my well thought out previous post that compared gun laws in the US versus many other successful democracies around the world.
The point I missed and wanted to say here is I agree with defending ones home and loved ones from criminals or if someone breaks into your home.
What I don't agree with is the way the NRA uses it's power in Washington to influence law makers by bribing the Congress and Senate through K Street and their special interest involvement efforts.
Let me clarify, having a gun to kill an intruder - I'm 100% on board with protecting your family and property.
It's the corrupt lobby, the NRA lobby I disagree with, it's not fair or American.
If you are an NRA supporter, a patriot, don't you care how gun laws come about? Don't you as an honest gun owner care how we legislate gun laws?
Just wanting a gun is not enough, if you really care how the process works, you don't deserve the gun you own.
For those of you not famaliar with the law process, the words "Lobby" and "Special Interest" or "K Street" all mean giving money "Bribes" legally to law makers in Washington to influence how they make laws. It's an American unspoken bribe thing, not considered illegal but in any other situation in America it would be considered very corrupt. Maybe this is where the confusion exists for many that have read my posts.
I'm for defending your life, property, just not how the NRA corruptly conducts business in D.C.

I'm focusing on D.C. not states and their individual issues, but thanks for the question.

A bribe is an illegal act in this country, so, giving a bribe legally does not fly.
I must say, I am impressed, I have seen 2 posts this morning that you followed up on.
The posts are still garbage, but at least you followed up on them.
So, if this issue really concerns you, do you hold NAACP, AARP and the thousands of other acronyms to the same standard? Afterall, these organizations have relatively small membership bases, yet weild a big club in politics. They all use the same tactics.
Even the Retired, self-proclaimed war hero and spy association uses those tactics.
I guess we don't deserve to own guns, be black, be old or be a retired self-proclaimed war hero and spy, huh?

Why do you single out the NRA when you claim you believe in 2nd Amendment rights? It has been the lobbying by the NRA that has secured our 2nd Amendment rights in recent years. As far as gun laws being passed what gun laws do you find offensive that the NRA has passed?
I am a member of the NRA, The American Motorcylist Association, The National Federation of Independent Businessmen, The National Association of Purchasing Managers, Traffic Clubs International and three area chambers of commerce. All of these groups employ lobbyist to insure our concerns are placed before the various legislative bodies.
Tell us please specifically what "bribes" the NRA has "legally" given to Congress and how do these "bribes" differ from left wing lobbying groups such as AARP, NEA, and trial lawyers.

I feel so much better now that F/F has given his blessing for us to own a gun.

While at the same time trashing the very organization that does the most to insure that we can.
Somehow I think Foundingfarters slept through his American History class. He certainly knows shit about the actual founding fathers.

I also doubt seriously that he will come back to see what anyone has said about him. He's a hit and run kind of feller

I think that fact may have slipped by...At the risk of letting a few titbits of info out, a large part of the Folks I know that own guns would never think of joining the N.R.A. Why? Because they've no interest in being on a Database.
