Question re: handguns ...
Why can't I use my 9mm for deer hunting?

Because it's not deer season.

Well, in my opinion the 9mm would be just a sidearm to kill the deer if it is still alive. How could you hit a deer without a long barrel? The aim on handguns is weak and if you have to get that close to a deer it will more than likely run. Scopeless is hard enough!

"How could you hit a deer without a long barrel?"
>>>People have done it with bow and arrow. Effective range, what, 150 feet?

Ron White (redneck comedian) will tell you to stick head lights and a little horn on the bullet, and slow it down to 55 mph..the deer will just jump in front of it.........Of course speaking from personal experience, it can be done at 70 mph in a F150 pretty effectively too.

I think George was commenting on "redneck comedians" more than Texans or Georgians (at least Foxworthy does live in Atlanta last I heard).

We Texans take great pride in ol' TS . Foxworthy could not polish his scotch glass . He could buy him a whole new set of fine leaded crystal but he could not polish his glass .

The difference is that with a bow and arrow, you have a better chance at a second shot. The deer will possibly look to where the arrow lands when it misses, not at you (I think, I'm not a bow-hunter!) But the handgun will scare off most anything near you, including other targets I think.
