You don't do the composting, all sorts of "bugs" work for free.

The question is whether you can just pile up yard waste and mix in garbage, or do you demand neat, in which case you need a container.

Not much to it, just a little bit of turning, and make sure it stays a little bit wet.....

Don't throw food in your compost pile, it'll smell and attract insects and scavengers.

Make a vermicompost bin. Worms do a much quicker, cleaner job on food scraps.

Only veggies with no dressing

Proteins become crab food.......

Thanks everyone.
I am leaning towards container/worms.

We have an abundance of birds and wildlife in AZ. The animals get the discarded food, always gone in the morning.

We do have problems with bears and mountain lions so my neighbor has yacked at me a couple time about it.
