Hey, Bush's greatest environmental accomplishments haven't been listed!

First and foremost, Bush got the House of Saud to raise their carbon tax on oil by $100 a barrel, so far, and has created the market conditions to ensure they are able to make that carbon tax stick. And Chavez, Iran, Sudan, Russia, and many other dictatorship and terrorist regimes have followed the Bush and Saudi lead.

Bush has been less successful in stopping all nuclear power generation, but that seems to be because he's got some powerful lobbiest who are seeking corporate welfare to prop up their unprofitable industries. But look at all the nations that Bush has attacked as evil for following the earlier US example of developing nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.

But for the $100 a barrel carbon tax, I think Bush should get the Nobel environment prize. Bush has accomplished more than Nixon, and like Nixon being the Republican to go to China, Bush is the Republican to implement the $100 carbon tax.

Thanks mulp, that's a different way of putting it but accurate all the same.

This presidents policies have led to the cooling of the earth. An accomplishment greater than the toppling of the Berlin wall in my estimation. People can quibble over policy all they want, results are all that really matters in the grand scheme afterall.

The next big thing to happen shortly is the advent of the ultra green car. This will be another offshute of Bush's policies.

Your right,Bush has been trying to restart the nuclear power industry,
but has been fought by environmentalists. The spent fuel can be recycled by a technology invented by The US.
also the president has called for ethonal on grand scale. The fact is we
dont really need foreign oil.We still export.we have enough oil in Alaska
California and Florida. We dont need oil for just cars.We will always have uses for it.California and Florida are holding us hostage for oil.And unless policies change our economy will continue to suffer.
The earth will continue to make more oil as it is a natural process of our planet. The likelyhood of us actually running out is nil.

Ask this question"when if ever will the democratic party allow exploration
for oil in our country and are you and the preservation of our American
life important to them?"

A liberals idea of environmentally friendly is putting Polar Bears and Spotted Owls on the endangered species list. Their goal of reducing our standard of living to that of a 3rd world country is also a step in the right direction to them.

A conservative judges its successes on fact and results. Lowering our dependence on oil, reducing global warming and increasing nuclear technology are but a few of our real and tangible RESULTS.

Ah, yes, the conservative ideal of the command economy.

Bush and other conservatives have picked nuclear power as the technology winner, and then proposed lots of government subsidies and incentives to make this mature technology something capitalists are getting enough welfare to eliminate the risk of financial failure.

And while scientists and engineers in the liberal US universities have proposed new fuel cycles for nuclear to eliminate the spent fuel disposal problem, no US capitalist, nor any global capitalist, has bothered to take the idea and run with it. Instead all the applied research is being funded by governments, and the first step to the next generation nuclear is being done in China, with France and Japan also investing lots of government money in testing out the ideas of US liberals. (I know it is liberal science because I've read about it in Scientific American, which is obviously a liberal propoganda organ.)

But what is Bush proposing to build in the US? The same state of the art nuclear reactor from three decades ago.

Of course, given the earth producing oil as fast as it is pumped out, it is clear that the US and global oil companies are holding back on their production in order to drive up prices. Clearly they can meet the entire US need for oil from Texas, Oklahoma, California, and Louisiana just like those States not only met the entire need of the US, but also supplied our allies during WWI and WWII. Clearly the oil companies have been taken over by liberals.
