Default Hawaii "vog"

Imagine that, humans not causing weather conditions.

Vog _ volcanic smog _ kills plants, casts a haze over Hawaii

"Dr. Cliff Field, ER director, said he is more concerned about the potential long-term harm. Large amounts of vog may cause emphysema and chronic lung disease over time. Still, he questioned whether living next to Kilauea is any worse than living in a city like Los Angeles.

Sally Ancheta of the American Lung Association of Hawaii said people should stay inside when the vog is bad. But she added: "I would not recommend anybody leaving. It's too good of a place to live."

Default hehe

I've read a little about this and some of the emissions this VOG produces.

Make no mistake! If people were not already living on this island the government would prevent people from living there! The emissions are greater now than places people cannot live.

Also, you won't see the global warming crowd touching this story except to investigate it enough to avoid it in debates...

I find the statement comical........
"Sally Ancheta of the American Lung Association of Hawaii said people should stay inside when the vog is bad. But she added: "I would not recommend anybody leaving. It's too good of a place to live."

So, I wonder if people could sue the gov't because they didn't tell them to move because of heath dangers?

Sulphur dioxide is an heavier than air poisonous gas. One big burp from the volcano could asphixiate a city. I would leave.

I have spent time in L.A. and hiked near Kilauea for a couple of days.
Anyone that compares the two are like these global warming frauds.
Vog forced me to hike an additional 3 miles one day.

wow; kudos to you for the climb. I've never been to the Big Island, only Oahu. But, I would think a hike would put into perspective for air quality.

If it isn't belching, the air is great. I mean, you are in the middle of the pacific ocean at altitude...the air has to be clean. Unless it is belching...

The point is, I have no trouble walking in LA but Vog is dangerous.
