Expert - "We're brainwashing our children" about global warming
William Gray, the well-known Colorado State University hurricane forecaster, routinely uses the annual National Hurricane Conference as a platform to bash global warming. In a statement to Florida Today, Gray argued that the scientific consensus on global warming is bogus — and "a mild form of McCarthyism has developed toward those scientists who do not agree" that mankind is in danger.
"We are also brainwashing our children on the warming topic. We have no better example than Al Gore's alarmists and inaccurate movie which is being shown in our schools and being hawked by warming activists with little or no meteorological-climate background," Gray wrote.
Some scientists believe global warming will actually decrease — not increase — the number of hurricanes that form over the Atlantic Ocean each year. Last Friday, in the final session of the hurricane conference, a pair of climate experts said rising sea-surface temperatures in and near the Caribbean could strengthen vertical wind shear. Robust wind shear is the bane of hurricanes, as it tends to tear apart cyclones during their formative stages.

LiveLeak.com - Glenn Beck and NewsBusters Expose Global Warming Bullies
If you want to talk about brain-washing, extortion and media manipulation this is a must see. Let me also state that I am not a regular listener of Glenn beck - though I have nothing against him. However, before all of you far-left people start railing about what a right-winged whatever it is that today's politically astute verbiage is supposed to be that I'm daring to question this whole Global Warming issue then just watch this .

I watched it and it said nothing really. The BBC had reported one month with a lower temp and someone thought the headline was misleading. I will take NASA, the IPCC and leading climate scientists and my own ability to comprehend the material over Glenn Beck.

Although if you want some good propaganda to dispute global warming I can help you out. I will find the link for you-it will make a good copy and paste.

Here is a link to an old thread. If you read it, a few members found some snazzier articles. I liked the one by the maker of the XUV. If you copy and paste just the article on forums and people do not understand the scientific. theory or peer reviewed studies they might go for it. I would try to cut off the ad for the XUV with the plasma TV inside next to the article.

LiveLeak.com - Top Scientist Debunks Global Warming
I find it interesting that you actually saw nothing wrong with that earlier post. Here's another link from a leading Australian scientist who also hgas doubts. From where I'm sitting while there may be some fragments of truth to "Global Warming" I also realize that it has become it's own cottage industry. Like any industry there are people with a lot of financial investments (as Al Gore has recently admitted too) in the notion of cool words like "carbon footprint" and new and exciting light bulbs. While we should all certainly do our due diligence in being reasonable about energy as a whole, I haven't heard anybody explain how Maine and New Hampshire have just gone through (among) their coldest winters on record. How now some people are saying we will be entering a Global Cooling period which was initially predicted back in the '70's. Leave it to the arrogance of humans to actually believe we can change the climate of the earth. Sorry. I'm not buying into it and if the media - whom you apparently don't have an issue with - would encourage a real debate and if skeptics weren't threatened and intimidated by voicing their own concerns and opinions then we could have a discussion. But there are many who don't believe in this propoganda and aren't getting their voices heard. Your blind eye towards that issue is part of the reason why.

Greenpeace founder now backs nuclear power
Patrick Moore tells the Boise chamber that the world must wean itself from fossil fuels to reduce greenhouse gases.
Greenpeace founder Patrick Moore says there is no proof global warming is caused by humans, but it is likely enough that the world should turn to nuclear power - a concept tied closely to the underground nuclear testing his former environmental group formed to oppose.
The chemistry of the atmosphere is changing, and there is a high-enough risk that "true believers" like Al Gore are right that world economies need to wean themselves off fossil fuels to reduce greenhouse gases, he said.
"It's like buying fire insurance," Moore said. "We all own fire insurance even though there is a low risk we are going to get into an accident."
The only viable solution is to build hundreds of nuclear power plants over the next century, Moore told the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday. There isn't enough potential for wind, solar, hydroelectric, and geothermal or other renewable energy sources, he said.
With development of coal-fired electric generation stopped cold over greenhouse gases, the only alternative to nuclear power for producing continuous energy at the levels needed is natural gas. But climate change isn't the only reason to move away from fossil fuels.
Fossil fuels also are a major health threat. "Coal causes the worst health impacts of anything we are doing today," Moore said.
Plus, uranium can be found within the United States and also comes in large quantities from Canada and Australia. Nuclear Power reduces the reliance on supplies in dangerous places including the Middle East, he said.
Moore spoke at the chamber breakfast after an appearance in Idaho Falls Tuesday night that attracted 300 people. He also spoke to the Idaho Environmental Forum in Boise, all sponsored by the Partnership for Science and Technology.
He represents the Clean Air and Safe Energy Coalition, a nuclear energy-backed group promoting reactors for electric energy generation. He began his career as a leader of Greenpeace fighting nuclear testing and working to save whales.
In recent years, he has taken on causes unpopular with his former group, like old-growth logging, keeping polyvinyl chlorides and now nuclear energy.
He says his change of heart comes from his background in science and a different approach to sustainability.
He sees a need for maintaining technologies that are not harmful while fixing or replacing those that are harmful.
"We don't believe we have been making too much electricity," he said. "We believe we've been making energy with the wrong technologies."
His critics, like Andrea Shipley, executive director of the Snake River Alliance, say he has simply sold out.
"The only reason Patrick Moore is backing something as unsafe and risky as nuclear power is he is being paid by the nuclear industry to do so," Shipley said.

You gotta love people of Andrea Shipley's intellectual class.
Oh wait, no you don't!

I have to say that all the global warming discussion is just one sided and no believer wants to go on the public stage and discuss it. If you don't buy into it then the general concensus is that your not bright enough to understand it even though there are scientists that understand the science say that Gore is wrong.

Steve the BBC articles author was taken out of context by Beck. Notice how Glenn Beck says global warming "activist" in his presentation never mentioning the leading bodies of scientists who have verifed NASA recordings. Well it was far more than just Jo whom Glenn chose to read an email from that knew that article was taken out of context...Glen forgot to mention NASA, the IPCC and even skeptics know temps have risen since 1998. Temperatures since 1998 have steadily risen and have not even been disputed by any major scientific body including skeptics. You happen to like that live leak and the way Glenn reported it, but the fact remains temperatures have risen, arctic ice continues to melt and even skeptics know this. The skeptics would laugh at Glenn Beck because their argument is that CO 2 is not the primary cause yet even they can read graphs and do not dispute the rise in temps and Beck is actually trying to say something even the skeptics would not try to get away with .You can copy and paste anything you want ,but until you can find a consensus with peer reviewed scientific studies it means nothing. Glenn Beck was not even astute enough to realize that NASA has records of global temps documented and just because one article by the BBC which was taken out of context he chose to run with it and not present documented and verified data.
Steve, do you really believe Glenn Beck over NASA, global data records of temperatures and even skeptics who acknowledge temps have risen. Glenn looked like an idiot on that live leak piece, even to a skeptic. Look I am not trying to convince you to believe the science of climate change by the IPCC, NASA or anyone else. You are locked into your beliefs and so be it, but you cannot take documented temps from leading bodies of science and accepted by both those who are believers and skeptics of human induced causes of climate change and suddenly change the recorded data just because Glenn Beck takes an article out of context. A responsible journalist might not have an opinion ,but actually research reputable graphs of the global temps and try to find if they have indeed risen or dropped instead of his lame presentation.A miniscule amount of research on yearly temps would have helped him out.
