Hitchens
Haven't read the book, but I did see Hitchens on "Hardball" yesterday. And it seems to me his premise is top dead center. The "Parties of God", whether the are Islamic fundamentalists, rightwing Jewish squatters in the West Bank, or "kill 'em to save 'em" Evangelicals in the USA, all need to STFU. They ain't going to enjoy the backlash.

Great Book entitled "God is not Great" (How religion posions everything)
We have the American Taliban right here in USA, they call themselves the "Evangelicals"...............they brainwash children, in their :creation museum, sunday school, and some place called the institute of "creation" science.
If you do not believe that this movement is capable of becoming militant you got your head up your ass.

What I thought interesting was Hitchen's prediction of a backlash against the messianics. I'm in favor of starting today.

Me too. I never miss an opportunity to tell them to keep their religion to themselves.

This country has been in a constant state of backlash since June 28, 1969, the anniversary of Stonewall, NYC. The "moral majority" went on the attack then to which the gay community backlashed, etc., etc., etc., etc. It is increasing in intensity and has scambled many things. Have no problem with the faithful until they seek to achieve positions of authority either "allowing" or "forbidding" equal rights to every American citizen based purely on those faiths, and not on the law or common sense.

Have been just a little miffed with Clay since he said several years ago that he "had it on good authority" that Kissinger would be arrested the next time he tried to leave the country, and would be tried for his war crimes. Been waitin' for that since about 1971 and NOTHING. All the s.o.b. has gotten for his crimes is a Nobel Prize. OMG that just drives Zonker and me nuts.

The backlash is what they call the "gay agenda" and they are NOT enjoying it.
