Were is the profit? We all know that Brother Al is a race baiter....and does so to line his wallet...nothing more...he has made an industry out of pitting the white race against the black....and does dis-service to both.....a simple fact...BD

I recently heard about this story and it blew (no pun intended) my mind. I know what I was doing at 17 and my grades weren't nearly as good as this kid's apparently. Obviosuly, teenage pregnancy and the psychological implications teenage sex can have is one thing. But my God, 10 years??? Outrageous.

What if the person that got 10 years in jail had been 18? Would it have been rape then? What if the girl in question had been 10 or 12? The age of consent is somewhat arbitrary in this matter, but then so is the age at which you can vote, sign contracts, drink, buy cigarettes and join the military. So what is wrong with the age of consent when it comes to sex if the age of consent for these other things is OK?

The point is....this clearly shows the real culprit in the story....not our legal system....not anyones color or race....The fact that these young people were in fact....out....not under the control of the family household... shows the breakdown of the Family Structure in our society.....When anyone is 18 or under living under the roof of their parents...their habits...lifestyles....and punishment...should in fact be the responsibility of the ones that birthed them...their parents...not that of the village...for in fact these kids should not have been there in the first place.....BD

18 means he is no longer a minor. Also, the sex with the girl was consentual - it wasn't rape. The girl was not 10-12 she was 15 or 16 at the time. The other issues that you brought up are just that. Other issues. What I was saying was that this was a kid who was getting good grades in school, had been in no trouble that I've heard of and was doing what 17 year old boys do. Being it was consentual and there was no assault, there was absolutely no reason for him to get 10 years in prison. If you want to give him community service or probation and maybe a swift kick in the ass from his (or the girl's parents) then fine with me. But again, I know what I was doing - or trying to do at that age and you were too. Let's just keep this for what it seems to be. Two horny teenagers who got caught.

Isn’t the village entitled to set certain minimum standards and demand that parents uphold them in their households?

Yes...they are....take care of what is your charge...or we will take care of them for you....and you see the result of the "Village" and its system of taking care of business.....a young man sits in prison..perhaps for 10 years...for getting his "knob" shinned a little...when he could have stayed at home.... and polished his own helmet...for free.......BD
