Not original to me. I saw it in a book I had from the library a couple of years ago, but it does express my sentiment.

The problem with trying to organize a 3rd party is that you cannot really attract members until you have a platform because people want to know what they are getting in to before they commit their time and money. But the platform you create will, no doubt, determine how many members the party can attract. I’ve often thought to trying to promote an effort to merge existing 3rd parties, but if I ever did, I wouldn’t worry about the platform first thing. Let the various parties decide on the mechanics of how the merged party would function, then once the various parties are in the habit of agreeing with each other on mundane things, maybe they can tackle the controversial issues that the platform must address.

I'll look forward to seeing it. I've worked locally with the Libertarians and the Greens...but currently consider myself independent...I'll PM you shortly.....

There is very little that libertarians want that I would accept and the Greens are too socialist for me to ever consider them, although I do support some of the Green’s anti-corporatist ideas.

Must admit that I haven't read any of the previous posts, but when I saw the title of this thread my own thought was, Well, emotionally, societally and intellectually they are about as out of touch as they can be and still reside on the same planet, BUT with both of their hands in all of my pockets, they are absolutely in touch with all of us.
I can imagine only one way to get our politicians back in line with the rest of us aside from the abolition of the IRS and that is to make military service compulsory for every 18 year old in the USA including THEIRS. They'd be much more careful of their actions if that were the case.

I don't think there is any party out there currently that matches my personal philosophy, such as it is....but I enjoy different ideas.

Are you really stupid?? I don't think so.
There are a lot of good people on this forum, why make yourself appear to be such an asshole? Is it some sort of game you are playing? did an American drop you on your head when you were a baby?
It's okay to be angry and lash out sometimes, just don't start and stay there.
I might not ever respond to you again, because you so stubbornly stay repulsive. Lighten up, join the conversation.

80% of Americans oppose this Bill, including many legal Mexicans. President Bush is hell-bent on getting it passed in its present state. Beware of the gesture he made today to earmark $1.7 billion (I think figure is correct) to construct the fence. But there's no timetable.
Americans want the illegal immigration solved in three steps: (1) secure the border (build the fence) and stop the inflow of illegal aliens; (2) beef up border security with boots on the ground and technology; (3) then, and only then, begin to deal with the illegals who are already in the U.S.
I have personally sent 147 faxes and probably an equal number of emails to my senator (Mel Martinez, one of the Bill's promoters), Pres. Bush and others in the past few weeks. I do this via numbersusa.com. It's the best site for the protest, though there are many, but this one is concise, factual and easy to navigate. Unless we flood our representative with faxes, emails, and phone calls, it's going to pass. We each have to do our part to stop it.

Don't play the race card. Yes, the illegals are primarily Mexican, but the six arrested in NJ are illegal Pakistanis, the 9/11 murderers were illegal Saudis, and on and on. 35% of the occupants of our federal prisons are illegal aliens and here I'll play the race card....it's a documented fact that Hispanic men drive drunk 40% more often than all other races. They're involved in more DUIs resulting in maiming and murdering of citizens than any other ethnic group, and most are illegal.
