Default JESUS would have been a Liberal Democrat

If Jesus were here inhabiting a body today, he's definitely be much more of a liberal than a conservative by far. Hey, anyone that preaches love, forgiveness, take in the homeless, be weary of materialism is definitely a liberal, not to mention the long hair, sandals and the robe.

I hear conservative news shows spewing hatred all the time. The Amish recently invited the parents of the killer of several Amish school girls to dinner, you never hear christians doing that - never. It's always more about revenge, the death penalty or some such response, where's the christianity then?

No, Jesus would be rather upset with the inconsistent actions of christians today. Especially in politics where it's taboo to bring religion to the table.

Please - NO SCRIPTURE cut and pasting, it's not convincing plus we know there's tons of ways to spin and interpret almost any bible passage but if you need to vent, I guess you will.

I'm personally an Agnostic, sort of between beliefs at this point in my life but I did live among the Japanese for 5 years and the Koreans for 3 years and most were Atheists or the same thing them being Buddhists or practicing Shintoism. All of them were way better christians than practicing christians I know here in the US.

Most of the Asian folks I meet were very kind, family oriented, successful, well balanced and happy.......All this without a belief system, oh, they are also very moral, have values, integrity and great honor and character. Hmmm......makes christianity liik pretty lame, well at least in the way most self proclaimed Americans act and what they say and do from day to day - it aint pretty, most chrisitians in America are "Fair Weather Christians". As long as you say and do the way they think, everything is smooth sailing. The minute you introduce a bit of controversey into a discussion or debate, it turns south real fast.

In addition, Jesus and God want us to stop thanking them for winning sports events.

You definently have a point; christianity in America has gone awry. However, Jesus would not be a Liberal. Nor would he be a Conservative. He would see the flaws in both factions, and choose not to be a member of either.
