Blinding Patriotism from the redneck white boy
Why is it that the patriotic streak runs so much stronger in places like Texas, the South or rural America in general? Is it beause these areas listen to country music that helps to suspend independent thought or critical thinking?
Most country music fans aren't the sharpest knives in the drawer anyway and add the overly patriotic lyrics from country music which are by the way, (take patriotism to unrealistic and dangerous levels) add to a dull southern or rural mind of Billy Bob with his pickup truck, chew'in tabaccy, boots and you get an individual with political and patriotic tunnel vision and zero objectivity or the ability to reason worth a damn. Guarentee this profile aint gonna be a liberal. God forbid he go against the flow, cut against the grain of the herd, for some reason it's more important to be accepted in the crowd than stand out with the country white boy - no balls if you ask me, too afraid to voice an opposing opinion, so just get along with the herd and stay quiet. Country boys have an extra special need to belong in the crowd, be accepted.
It's why so many in this forum attack me and call me names. I've received more e-mail here that agree with me, way more than oppose, not posts but e-mails. Most in the e-mails here say when you get attacked for a thought or opinion it's usually because they know you're right and the only defense they have in opposition is to attack and that's just sad when one can't admit defeat and own up to a loss. Plus, attacking the messenger is futile when the message is reflective of public opinion and America is general, but you still vent with no impact, so feel free, aint free speech great?
It's the old macho male insecurity factor with lots of country white boys. Afraid their dick is too small so the buy the most male vehicle around - the pickup truck to bolster their self image and qwell their insecurities. And the higher the lift kit on a truck, the lower the IQ and most likely the more patriotic.

Stereotyping, it isn't something that I would have taken you for. But here you are, participating in the very same thing that you rail against.

I've never railed against stereotyping but I did accurately predict this response - pretty insightful.

So my prediction about name calling was very insightful, very predictable, attacking the messenger again - rather useless isn't it? Vent if you must but water off a ducks back especially when it holds no weight from limited thinkers.
I'm trying to be controversial, I'd like a post with 100 responses, so far I haven't picked the right topic.

How so?? I am not a redneck, I am not from Texas, and I am a black american...
Exactly what kind of response where you expecting?? You consistantly preach free speech, yet when those opposing your views confront you, you choose label them as racist hatemongers, all in the name of uberpatriotism.

Ever wonder WHY organized crime never gained a foothold down here in the hinterland ? It was not for a lack of trying , they tried in the 1920s and in the 1950s . They did not like getting their guinea asses shot off when they tried to intimidate southerners ! Cum git sum boy !

Racist hatemongers? I don't recall labeling anyone as racist, I'm guilty of using stereotypes only because it happens to be true in most cases. I predict the name calling, their vent potential to attack the messenger versus the message but I don't try to label anyone.
