Exclamation History lesson: America will fall

America is the world's only current superpower. America earned its superpower status after two massive world wars. It has been a politically important nation in the world since its "birth" in 1776. Even though America has the potential to flourish for the coming ages, all great things come to an end. History has proven it.

The early Mesopotamian kingdoms died out, and the Egyptians had their heyday. China flourished for over two millenniums but became communist. Greece and Rome did their thing in ancient Europe, and the Mongols and Japanese did theirs in Asia. Almost every European nation has had their kicks since the Renaissance. The Soviet Union dominated for a while with an iron fist but was undermined by none other than the USA. The most powerful nations always crash.

America is not going to set a new trend in the textbooks by being the only nation to never fall. The only question left is this:

When will America fall?

It started about 30 Years ago IMHO, it is now in the process of falling, and the Chinese are in the process of rising.

I have no doubt that the USA will still be the major power when I die, but, 100+ years later it is most likely to be sub-servant to the Chinese Empire.

I don't believe this is good, but, I do believe this is inevitable....I probably won't care when I'm dead, but, would like to have see the USA have developed a longer term strategy.........right now it is likely to be shortest term lived Superpower in history!

I think that distinction goes to the Third Reich.

OF course you won't care when you're dead, but your descendants will. That is why you MUST CARE NOW!

The whole point in learning history is to better avoid the mistakes of the past. There is a whole bunch of long range strategic planning concerning future threats and rising powers, you apparently haven't been told of them yet.

However, I'm so tired of hearing people ready to give up to a fatalistic view of America's future in between trips to Walmart. STOP BUYING FROM THE CHINESE..... DUH!!! You and your ilk are prepared to sell out our country for an Xbox and cheap sneakers. God forbid you should have to make some sacrifices to keep this country going. Don't stand up to the corporations and tell them to get the hell out of china or you stop buying their crap.

Opinions like this make me ill, and embarrassed to call you a fellow American. How sad that someone has convinced all of you that you are powerless to do anything about it.

you have to understand that we may be weakened by the presidency beginning from 2000-2008 but America will not fall because other leaders will take place and if everyone votes right we could get enough leadership to turn the flag rightside up. I don't believe America will fall because of this incident but i believe we are at the weakest point we have ever been. Also history has also set its standards when we were one of the greatest nations ever, lets look at history to not bring us down but to build us back up to what we were in the past.

Why will America fail? We did the two things George Washing warned us about doing way back: we have political parties & we are involved with world affairs.

George Washing knew exactly what would cause the U.S. to crumble, and low and behold we are doing those things now.

Every single American needs to assert every last one of their freedoms all of the time no matter what. We need to think for ourselves and disolve all political parties.

Unfortunatly we are too involved in the affairs of the rest of the world now to ever go back. One thing is for certain, though, when the U.S. crumbles we will take the rest of the world down with us.

All nations that lean too far to the socialist side fall...it is inevetable. Socialism isn't a political philosophy, it is a wasting disease.

No history has not proven it.

The E.U. is an economic power only. Most members of the E.U. only have military for defensive purposes. Russia is no longer a superpower. It has too many internal problems. China is emerging as a super power, but it is not there yet.

History has proved it, from the beginning of civilization. The fertile crescent, the cradle of civilation is now the shit-hole we call Iraq. Egypt is now a run-down, currupt country with little more than the pyramids to point to its once greatness. Greece gave way to Rome which had a collapse not unlike the Soviet Unions. What goes up must come down.
