Anybody who thinks it's a good idea ...
to skip out on your debts and to wait for you kids to pay them, please raise your hand. Next, anybody who thinks it's a good idea to borrow to pay your debts, please raise your hand.
"President Bush and Democrats in Congress traded jabs today over the budget in what could be an indicator of fights to come. As he prepared to deal with a Democratically-controlled Congress for the first time, Bush asked lawmakers to extend tax cuts. Responded Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu, "I know people don't like to pay taxes, but the fact of the matter is is that this administration has produced a record deficit."" -CNN.com

It might be a little late in the day for Bush to start exercising 'fiscal restraint', wouldn't you agree?

>>>What you're not understanding, Gix, is that the only G-R-O-W-T-H we've had has been in the deficit and the debt.

Good point, but don't forget pork barrel spending by both parties.
George-Tax breaks actually increase the government's revenues. Look at the other two instances of tax breaks to the middle class. Well I guess you won't because one of them was Regan.....but the other was a liberal darling...JKF. Revenues increased after his cuts as well. History pal, history.

Well, you know, the war is also just a little expensive, though we still don't have a national debt as bad as Japan's; theirs is more than the country's GDP.
