Don't get the green Kryptonite near you when you are at the computer Jim, your hands get very weak/lazy and then Jimmy Olsen (another of the Jimmy twins) has to do the writing for you so we can understand what you are saying. Let him help you out please.
There are several forms of Kryptonite and Superman can help you recognize which are the worst ones...

Kix, the some can be a number of people, and actually NPR is being rather fair and 'sporting' to say this without naming names because I will gurantee that AA didn't (don't listen to them that much any longer to know) and the AP and CNN named specific names of who the 'muck rakers' are. Actually, NPR has proved to be moderate again when dealing with this particular issue. I found numerous links to this you can go to if you wish. Namely Dennis Prager (actually a jew), Sean Hannity, and Glen Beck stand out as the ones I saw to make some real stupid commentary on Rep Keith Ellison. Yes, there are also very right leaning Christian leaders and several Republican Party elected officials making a stink that are seeing this guy as 'un-American' as per Judeo-Christian beliefs. There is nothing in our constitution that says he cannot do this FOR A PHOTO OP. It is actually more for a photo op really because the actual oath that is given/recited/taken gets done 'en mass' with all the new, freshmen elected officials. Eh...with the VP or S or the H or S reciting(?)...I have to check that. But the point is that this a big giant stink showing how stupid and misinformed these people on the right actually are about this particular issue, our constitution, and the real values we hold next to our hearts as Americans.

Hmmm.. I guess I'm either not looking in the right places or I'm getting there too late for this story. At any rate, I could understand people saying things like; "what's next", or "where do we draw the line" because anytime people break away from what is considered historical precedence or tradition it makes people wonder about the future. I'm not sure where the line should be drawn but I believe we should have a line somewhere or we'll end up with people wanting to take their oath on the latest copy of Popular Mechanics or Hustler (if that trash is still out there). So, to be honest, the only logical conclusion I would be able to come up with would be to remove all religious books from the oath ceremony and have people take their oath on the Constitution.

It's too late for that , Nathan . We crossed over the church vs . state line a long time ago and once you've crossed over the line , it's extremely hard to turn around and go back !

That is a damn good idea, this is a loyalty to our country to run things fairly for all citizens of the US...but everyone has to do it and essentially what I said about the 'en mass' ceremony that does happen when the official stuff does go down. What does the next sworn in president do next time when SCJ John Roberts swears him (or her) in? That is where the difference might be.
