Joe the plumber isn't even a plumber. He is some guy who worked under another plumber's license, which is illegal. Plumbers are licensed so they won't fuck the shit up.

I've read many posts that insist that the election of Barak Obama is going to turn the United States into a socialist country where the State takes all your money and parcels it out as it sees fit.

This is the same type of claim made in 1992. Bill Clinton is going to turn our nation into a socialist/communist nation. That was nonsense then, and it's nonsense now.

Forget about campaign promises, they mean bubkis. What do politicians in the U.S.A. do? They cozy up to big money. Does big money want socialism? No.

I predict that an Obama Administration will be very similar to a Clinton administration. So let's look at the Clinton years.

The idea being spread on this forum is that Obama is going to "distribute the wealth". This was the same claim leveled at Clinton. Under that model, it would be safe to say that there should be fewer billionaires at the end of Clinton's term than at the start.

In 1992, there were 64 billionaires in the U.S. In 2000, there were more than 400 billionaires! That's an increase of over 300%. I'm not saying that Clinton is responsible for the increase. I'm not saying that Clinton was responsible for the incredible economic boom of the 1990's. I'm saying that if the U.S. had been turned into a socialist state, the number of billionaires wouldn't have increased because their wealth would have been re-distributed.

I doubt that those who are voicing this bogus concern will stop, even in the face of evidence that contradicts their claim. However, hopefully some of you who were kinda worried that it may happen will realize that there is NO WAY IN HELL that the U.S. will become a socialist state. Will there be some government programs? Yes. That is true under Democrats and Repulicans. Heck, the current Republican Administration is partially nationalizing struggling banks. Does that mean the Bush Administration is Socialist or that it is turning America into a Socialist state? No. The same will be true of an Obama administration should he become elected.

So chill out, the U.S.A. is going to be a bastion of capitalism for a LONG LONG TIME.

Yesterday, the Tanning Bed Media discovered unpaid tax liens against Joe Wurzelbacher. Two days ago, we would have said, “Who?” He’s better known this week as Joe the Plumber after his impromptu dialogue with Barack Obama produced a blatantly redistributionist answer from the Democratic presidential candidate.
In their haste to pillory Joe for the audacity of asking a tough question of Obama, the Tanning Bed Media missed a couple of other interesting tax liens. Patterico does the work of the TBM:
Oh — I almost forgot to mention: Martin Nesbitt, the treasurer of Obama’s campaign, has tax liens. So do his companies.
You’d think that matters more than the tax liens of Joe the Plumber, wouldn’t you? But good luck finding a Big Media story about Nesbitt’s liens.
If tax liens are such an indicator of character and trustworthiness, wouldn’t it have more significance for the treasurer of a presidential campaign than for a man who just asked a question of the candidate? If the national media has such an interest in investigating a plumber who made a couple of national appearances, why wouldn’t they have at least the same interest in the people running a major party presidential campaign? Of course not. The same people who instruct us that Barack Obama’s 20-year membership in Jeremiah Wright’s church while Wright called 9/11 “chickens coming home to roost” now interrogate Joe the Plumber on national TV about his brief flirtation with the Natural Law Party.
Because, you know, associations matter when choosing a plumber, but apparently not when choosing a President.

I'm a licensed small business owner and Hussein is totally incompetent based on my expert, professional experience.

Yea, I'm a kool-aid drinking small business owner that knows more about the American dream than Hussein could learn in the next 50 years.

I would bet if you provided actual figures about your business, it wouldn't be hurt by Obama or any Democrat. It is a myth they hurt small business, so put up or shut up. Accounting isn't that hard. You may even learn how to run your business right.
