That is why I have asked all these business geniuses to make a case with numbers. If someone had a business that was making $280,000 per year and the tax law changed, they could decide to reinvest $30,000 into improving the business and not pay taxes, couldn't they? I can see ways of getting around it by energy savings, property improvement, equipment purchases etc.

It may be a good argument, but I doubt someone will provide examples. I guess some would want to live richer than the higher tax cut off point. It could also stimulate investment to avoid paying higher taxes. I have a hard time getting people to look at things to see the full picture, mostly because they don't want to.
