Here is an interesting stat.The Republicans were in charge for approximately 44 months from the start of the war until the Democrats took over Congress in 2006. The Democrats screamed that they would end the war, stop the killing, and stop spending billions on Iraq firehouses and build American firehouses instead.Since they were elected to power some 24 months ago, the Democrat controlled congress has not kept their promise and if you add Obama’s 16 month schedule for troop withdrawal, it will be approximately 40 months before the withdrawal has been completed, if he doesn’t flip flop for a longer stay.It's possible and probable that US forces will be in Iraq longer under a Democrat President and Congress, then they were under the Republicans.
