This is high stakes poker in Vegas now and not a little card game over the cracker barrel at the local general store (No more by himself in the cornfields of Ill with no media coverage). I think both you and DOM and being disengenuous about the realities here and taking things out of context of what Obama actually says and what he actually has to do to become president (that goes for anyone); both of you will not vote for him no matter what. Both of you really do need to read his writings in their entirety but I know you won't, it will be lost on you. Both of you think he sits as a cookie cutter liberal that leads people along. The more I have read the less I see of that, I started out for Hillary BTW. Now, if you don't like JFK then you probably will not like Obama as your president (and some of Bill Clinton in certain ways), Obama's philosophy is not a whole lot different than those two men. After doing some reading he is pretty consistent to what he has outlined, all the moves he has made and how he has gone about it is no surprise. What I do know is my vote is also against McCain, he is trying to be BUSH III and I personally cannot stand for that at all...again, McCain is desperate and looking for a way back in the ring at this point..

The debate with ABC and Charles Gibson was a total f*cking disaster (Hillary/Obama) and the 'town hall meeting' thing could spiral way out of control (why take chances when in the lead?). If I were Obama I would NOT trust any media to cover these types of things unless my people had some OR A LOT of control. Far too many things go wrong everyday in this political race in the media to trust this to be done right. Again, if you read what Obama has written, he is VERY aware of the big picture with the media and he gets it...one of the smartest guys when it comes to this stuff and can think on his feet when the shift has to be made (whether a little or a lot).

Funny that you should say this because now it is fact (USA Today, July 5th)that Obama has been given a third more in campaign donations from people affiliated with the military. McCain is certainly not doing well even with people who normally would be on his side...yes, he has everything to lose right now and needs a boost where ever he can get it.
