Default Barack Obama is trivia personified

It’s been said that individuals only use about fifteen percent of their brains. I never did believe that. I maintain that whatever an adult uses it amounts to one hundred percent. It's just that in most folks too many gray cells are given over to accommodating junk. I realized this when I saw how much worthless fluff I had in my own head.

In fact, I stopped watching quiz shows years ago because I made myself sick every time I knew the answers to the questions. I got tired of asking myself "How did that nonsense get in my head?"

In a world where selling is everything the quiz show sells trivia; i.e., fill your head with junk because you might win a fortune on a quiz show someday. Your odds of winning a lottery are better than winning a ton of money on a quiz show because you happen to know the middle name of a long-dead author.

Intelligent people are not using more brain cells than the average person uses, they simply have less trivia trash smothering real thinking. True geniuses have less junk in their noggins than does the average bumpkin. That's the concentrate that animates brilliance.

The percentage of debris in the average brain can range from 85 to 99.999 percent of total capacity. I'll take a big chance here and say that most people know their own name. I'll record that as a sign of aptitude rather than imply that a few people are without intelligence altogether.

Socialists represent the perfect example of what I am talking about. Socialism/communism has provided far too many people with an excess of political hogwash —— leaving very little room for the discernment necessary to shatter the false promise of a communist utopia. Barack Obama offers voters more of the same while he concentrates on the money and the political power.

The basic test of freedom is perhaps less in what we are free to do than in what we are free not to do. It is the freedom to refrain, withdraw and abstain which makes a totalitarian regime impossible. Eric Hoffer
