Not much. Progressives believe in progress. Progress has a strange meaning to many people. In the 30's, as i said, progressives believed in forced sterilization of idiots because they believed it was "scientific". They supported Marxism for much the same reason. This is not my opinion, you can go back and read the arguments. There is a reason my Marx (and his followers) referred to his system as "scientific dialectic".

You cannot discount people who claim to be "progressives" by saying that they are not "true" progressives anymore than conservatives can discount the nasty things that conservatism has been used to defend.
