He did become a vocal opponent of the position of the religious right on such issues as gay rights and abortion. He had strong libertarian beliefs. It seems the democrats that defected from the racist and segregationist democratic party, to the “black rights Party” of the republicans, brought all their religious beliefs with them too. But this hardly amounts to a denunciation of his party.

It’s funny really how the extreme wakos, on the far left and far right, have a common base democratic history.

But none of this has anything to do with MLK, JFK or democratic racism. Lets stay on point.
