If you read through the conversation carefully--it was being manipulated. It had nothing to do with the Dugger's or how many children someone should have. This is a very nice young teen male commenting on a very odd property. From the beginning it was clear, my comment was on this neighbor family, and my son's comment was on the property.
As hard as Dom tried, I never said I wanted to fight with the family, my son never discussed limiting families and my comment was about a local family who appear miserable with 16 children.
I do not watch television shows so I do not know about the Duggers, although I thought from George's article the name of their church was funny. They seem to be enjoying the publicity.

On this topic kind of... I had a haircut yesterday. A woman was in the waxing room getting a Brazilian. She was a few days from her due date. It was her fifth pregnancy. Her first two were her children and the last three she was incubating and was a "surrogate". I do not know if they are her biological children or a petri dish implantation. Technically she cannot sell the babies..but the expenses can be paid so she profits. I thought it was unreal.
She was getting her Brazilian to be prepared for the filming of the delivery. |

While I would never want that many children, they seem to be consenting adults so let them deal with problems. I find it amazing that so many would condemen them for something that is nobody's business as long as they are providing for themselves.

It is just something one doesn't see often in this country. We tend to mock those things we don't understand. Now, I think they are strange, having seen them on a few TV shows, but I also think they have every right to do what they want. |
