Did you choose to "breed" when you had children? Is that how you refer to it?
Of course their is no legal limit, and there should not be.

Sorry, not falling for it. I was there..a funny observation from a 14 year old about about a property with various building and locked up gates housing 18 family members was funny. For him, it was not about limiting family members. You were not there, you do not know the kid, and you are really scraping tonight.
Biological reproduction is breeding. I made lots of jokes about myself while pregnant and lactating.
You are looking for a fight that is not there. Read through this conversation. You may gain a different perspective than you are hoping to find.

I read through this conversaton, MOST of it was people bitching about others having more children than they thought they should have had. Are you disputing this?
What perspective should I have found by reading this thread? You say that I may find a different perspective, so maybe you can tell me what perspective I should have 'found'.
I am not 'hoping' to find anything, what I did find was a bunch of people bashing others for making different choices than what they woudl have made. That is fine, but all I am asking is that they justify this.
The compound comment was obvious, no need to attempt to justify it. As you said, it was associated with recent events.
I thought my son's comment was funny considering the news
What news? Could it have been the Moromons in Texas? Or was it something else?
It is likely they are breeding so much for self centered reasons.
I live at the edge of a neighborhood that has a dirt road leading into the foothills. There is a mormon family with 16 children. They drive a custom SUV and the mother has stickers on the rear window with stick figures representing each of the family members. The mother believes she will rise to a higher level of heaven.
My son refers to their house as the compound
The message that you delivered was that your son was reffering to it as a compound because of the children. Or was it because of the stick figures? Or maybe the SUV?
Ok though, fair enough, when you were having your children it was merely breeding.

Why do any of you care how many children these people have?

You are disingenuous in your methods. This is a property with numerous buildings, dumpsters, gates that a 14 year old kid commented on the way it looked and you are distorting it . He would not even consider the topic of limiting family size. Like I said, read this conversation, you are looking for something that is not there.

No, I am saying she is miserable because she looks miserable, complains a great deal about her burdens, screams a lot, and looks like hell.
It has nothing to do with my abilities.

You mentioned NONE of that when you made the compound statement. You said tht they had a bunch of children, had stick figures in the windows, and had a SUV. THAT is what you mentioned when you said your son said it looked like a compound. Tell me, which one of those three things make it a compound? What were you referring to when you said it was funny considering the news?
I don't think he DID think about limiting family size, I think you were the one referring to family size, but that is beside the point. Maybe you weren't, but in that cse I am interested in knowing how owning an SUV or having stikck figures in your windows qualifies as a compound.
From that your son came up with his 'compound' statement . . . at least according to your first post.
I asked you what part of the conversation to read Sam. What part of the conversation was not bitching about the number of children people had?

What above qualifies this place as a compound? (notice that I produced the entire quote)
By the way, referring to this home as a compound does take on a negative conotation, it can mean no other thing in this context.

My neighbor does not abuse her children as far as I can see. As I said, she believes she will attain a higher level of heaven, so I think it is obvious why she is breeding.
I thought my son's comment was funny considering the news. Actually, he likes the kid who is his age and sometimes plays basketball with him. Who cares what anyone says.
We look straight down on their property when we walk the dirt and it looks like a compound, with all the above ground pools, locked and gated driveway, added small building structures. Yes, it is their choice and they look miserable.
|
Here on the very next post I explain why he made this observation about their property.
You continued to distort his comment after I had already explained the property. Oh well...
My comment was on this neighbor family and how miserable they seem with their 16 children.

Qualifies? "L" if people want to buy property and set out dumpsters and gate it up and build little side buildings someone might describe it as such. I am not sure what you mean by qualify?
