I do know somewhere in Europe- Denmark perhaps-there is a 'suicide company'. the person gets two years of counseling and at the end if they are mentally heathy and sure, they are provided a hotel room, a last meal, and a poison to drink. their body is then taken away by the company and sent to what ever funeral parlor (or whatever place) they picked out.

I know many people express religious and personal concerns about elective suicide or even suicide due to an incurable illness. but I'm more curious to know if you think everyone who wants to die is ill or should be prevented from doing so?

(naturally its cool if you want to add in your personal views apart from the general question. but please answer it first. AND BE REALISTIC AND MATURE, DON'T JUST INSULT PEOPLE)

We are allowed to "put down" our Pets when they're ill, and in pain...Yet, we are expected to bear witness to our Loved Ones dying slow and painful death....

Go figure.

Besides, it's murder. Someone getting the news that they'll die in 3 months, usually has the stamina and physical ability to kill themselves -- NOT ENLIST A THIRD PARTY to kill them.

Suicide, not "assisted" suicide (i.e., murder) is an option as much as skydiving. But murder is murder anyway it's sliced, diced, fried and boiled.

I disagree, some may want and need to die, who can't physically (and I know one) get it done without help. Euthenasia has a different meaning from murder, consult Webster's if you doubt it.

I may regret this in the near future,,,but I'm going to agree with you Icy.

Watching a Loved One dying of Cancer,,,and begging for the end of pain and misery,,,would change a few minds out here on this topic.

Species killing behavior is more than a sin, it can, well kill off mankind. It starts with a mindset and snowballs from there.

If a virus worse than the Black Plague emerges, and folks are willing to kill themselves to prevent being "maimed by cysts" and what not, how do you think the species can survive when folks are that superficial? Your nose can be gone, and half the dick missing, but can still reproduce.

Vanity doesn't keep a species alive, survival does.

How to explain this...I'm not of any Faith. Therefore I see no need to base my thoughts and opinions on the "Here After". You want to get graphic in details, ok.

A land mine blows a comrade of yours in half. He's screaming his Life away, and in intense agony. He begs to be "released"... What do you do Chris?

Nope. Because again, humans have it's own prime directive: and that's to live. It's even hardwired into our very cells.

Well, I do believe that Eutherasia is a prelude to state killings without trial, and that would be my only concern. You might think that a large jump, but I believe it is accurate.
