It is a different world today then it was in 1992, but in 1992 and 2009, one thing will not have changed.

We are a consumer based ecomomy, and that is where prosparity begins and ends.

Consumers spend their disposable income on consumer products, not on Oil futures that drive up gas prices, and not on sweat shops in asia, which take jobs from American consumers

This is not partisan politics, this is just a fact, and one that has played out over the last 28 years with the exact some result each time.

Its jsut not that simple. Education costs money. Any time the goverment a for more money theres less to spend on anything like education. So far the only soliution Ive heard is to raise taxes to make up for the money Squandered by the Goverment. That wont fix anything.

People are forgetting 1 very important thing...

The rich do NOT put their money in a bank, under a mattress, in a cookie jar, but instead reinvest it back into the economy. The rich are business savvy, know how to make companies grow which nearly always makes employees happier (especially if they invest into the company they work). The rich keep the cycle of money circulating at a fast speed.

The government instead uses tax money taken from rich to redistribute wealth, promote a welfare state, reward laziness and increase the size of a beurocracy by hiring 3 people to do 1 job which provides almost nothing of value except killing time...

In some sense, I agree with what you are saying here. But, we still need to be careful that the wealth distribution doesn't become too skewed and uneven....which I believe is the natural tendancy in a Laissez-Faire system. Our country has achieved what it has because of the middle class; the more people that can have a positive impact and can contribute, the better. That is why places like Saudi Arabia and others....even with all of their wealth can't compete with us....too few people contributing to their society.

Education pays for itself...educated people earn more, and thus spend more and produce more.

This is one of the THE key component of the right wing anti intellect, and something they will never understand

Left to their own devises, those with the monitary power to do so, will benifit themselves without regard to what benifits other Americans or the American economy.

What an effective government does, is reward those who benifit the ecomomy and do what is best for America (Remember "targeted tax cuts' ? ) and uses the revenue to uphold Constitutional requirements and mandates. ALL Constitutional requirements and mandates....not just those that fit the right wing agenda
