Well ... not to burst your bubble, but a report from the National Center for Policy Analysis shows that the tax burden has been increasing on the evil rich faster than their incomes have been going up.
Here's a quickie look at the figures since 1986. - The share of the income tax paid by the top 1 percent of income earners went from 25.8 percent to over 37 percent.
- The percentage their total income that the top 1 percent of income earners paid from their income to the federal government rose from 18.3 percent to 19.6 percent. The percentage paid by the bottom fifth of income earners went from 0.4 percent to zero percent.
- The income share of the top 1 percent rose from 11.3 percent to 19 percent while their share of income taxes rose from 26 to 37 percent. That's a 7.7 percent increase in income and a 11 percent increase in income taxes.
Clearly these evil rich people are getting away with murder. We need to really raise their taxes, don't we?

we? are you in the top 1%?
look, these people are paying a disproportional number of taxes for the money they've been making. The top 1% in America has more than 30% of the wealth, in fact, they privately own over 40% of the wealth in the country. Not to mention their fat ass businesses which constitute a hold well over 60% (if not closer to 90%) of all wealth in the US. Shouldn't they be paying 60% of the taxes?
Further, many of the top 1% are being paid via shady government contracts, essentially making there money from our taxes. So even if they do pay taxes, they're paying taxes off taxes, its completely depleted our treasury.

These types of posts are such a waste of bandwidth
pre 2000 tax rates
The best economy in 50 years, low unemployment, jobs created, tech companies thrived, credit system healthy, 5 trillion in projected surpluses. dollar dominates international currency, millions of new jobs, stable gas prices, the LLEI is UP on all 12 items
Post 2000 tax rates
Recession, inflation, stagnation, rise in poverty, 300+ billion dollar deficits, (9/11 did NOT cost 5.3 Trillion dollars) rising unemployment, durable goods down, retail down, demand for increased inventory down, wages lagging behind inflation, the dollar is a joke on international currency markets
There is no longer a need for debate. WE are a CONSUMER based economy, not a SUPPLY side economy.
That is why the tax cuts that benefited only theb top 3% of income earners failed miserably in the 80s, and why they have failed again.
2009, sanity returns to the tax code
If you are below the 28% tax bracket, and the 3 to 5 % tax cuts of 01 (For most, made NO diffence anyway) are a make you or brake you proposition, stick yolur head in an oven, becuse you are not going to make it EITHER way
Get a better job. your problem is Red State scab wages, NOT taxes

Get a clue
First off..if you were in the 15 or 20% bracket back in 01, (10 and 15% now)the tax custs were meanigless, becuse you payned virtually NO income tax to begin with. In fact, chances are, you got MORE BACK then you paid in after earned income, child deductions and or head of household
So much for the working poor or lower middle class
If you were between the 20% and the 28% bracket, you annual saving were peanuts (less then $500 a year)
Now tell me again how less then $50 a month is a make ofr break situation ?
Also, tell me if that $500 savings has offset the rise in gas and food (????)
Now..if you happen to be in the 30+% brackets, Now you begin to see some savings
If you happen to be in the highest brackets, it was a windfall.
Wages on the other hand, have stagnated since 01, below the rate of infalation for 6 ,out of 7 years
Again, the solution ?
Educate byourself and train for a better job.
Take it from someone who is at the high end of the 28% bracket. taxes are a LOT less painful when you have positive cash flow and there is plenty left over

I'm a small business owner. My company made over $115,000 last year. Of that, I saw less than nothing personally. Now, taxes come around and I'm coughing up $6,000 just for social security alone, plus my other taxes. I needed that money desperately. Losing it has sent me and my business practically back to square one (if square one had a better client list). Now, I'm young dumb and full of cum so I'll personally be fine, but I couldn't have imagines surviving this situation if I had, say, a family to also take care of.
