Nice spin Dom1!! You do realize Bush has never used his veto pen for his first 6 years b/c he had a lock step--rubber stamp congress who never challenged him. Bush is using the veto pen to Prevent the Dems slim majority from passing any meaningful bills that the will of the people wanted passed.

The average everyday American voters need to realize whats happening up on capital hill when it comes to the Dems slim majority, the Republican Congress voting lock step against any Dem bills, and the Bush Veto Pen!!

Point is Dom1, if Dem. voters are upset at the job the slim majority Dem Congress.....the voters needed to vote to allow the Dems to gain 10 more Senatorial seats from Republicans, in order to stop the Bush veto pen.

The only way the slim Dem. majority can honor the will of the people who voted them in as the slim majority to pass the bills, the Dems would need at least 10 moderate Republicans to compromise and vote with the Dems.

Katrina reconstruction companies are tied together in another important way. They tend to be particularly well linked to the Bush administration and the Republican Party.

George Bush's version of capitalism is of a predatory, parasitical kind. It feeds on death, eats money, goes home when the cash stops flowing, and leaves further devastation in its wake. New Orleans, like a rotting corpse, naturally attracts all sorts of flies.

President Bush signed an executive order allowing federal contractors to underpay workers on rebuilding projects. This is in violation of the Davis-Bacon Act, which requires that at least the prevailing wage of an area be paid. The trade-union movement must unite to demand that all workers be paid at union scale on all reconstruction efforts.

Gee, Rast. Did you just wake up. Thats the way a democrocy works, always has. Now I know you hate the fact that thats the type of government we have, but damn man, thats life. If you want to live under a different form of government, like one where the guys with the most guns rule, feel free to relocate. Otherwise get with the program, start your own political party and run for office.

You know Teak, just b/c you take the attitude you do on this issue, does not mean everyone should fall in behind you with the same attitudes and beliefs.

Whats wrong with exposing and discussing the faults and cluster fucks of a current Administration.

You appear to be the person thats need to get with the program of understanding that not people are monolithic in their political beliefs!!!

So calm down and take a load off why don't you, and if you get a chance, why don't you start your own party. Fair Enough!!!

I have, its an Independent party. Boy, your life is going to be so empty after the 08 elections. But, I'm sure you will not like the results thereof either, so you'll still have someone to rile against, your ilk always does.

Well Teak, history has proven, unless you build an Independent Party from the grass roots or local level over a period of 10 to 20 years, Independents don't fare very well in General Elections. So keep putting cart ahead of the horse!!!

Look Rasta--if there was such a thing as a democrat contractor--we could have that debate.

Also, the Iraqi's are more than capable of rebuilding their country. However, the greed and corruption of the GOP voting and donating Defense Contractors won't allow it. After all those GOP Def. Contractors wanted to bilk American tax payers and pocket those tax dollars.
Sure--they almost had mastered indoor plumbing when we invaded--they can handle anything and everything--they dont even poop in holes anymore.

Another GOP myth that only Haliburton can do these job is pure bull shit!!! only dim witted conservatives would believe that BS. But hey, you're a conservative so we don't expect much comon sense and critical thinking from conservatives in general anyway.
Again I repeat--Haliburton has over 100,000 employees--if you insist on WalMart getting some of these contracts--so be it.

Lastly, Iraq is not a Beacon for Democracy as we speak, but more resembles a chaotic killing fields on STERIODS with no end in site! The Republican installed Democracy has further casued utter destruction and death!

So keep pumbing and spewing the Republican talking point, lies, and propaganda!
Harry Reid is this you?--didnt you already declare the war lost in APRIL?

You can tell the DEMOCRATS ARE GETTING NERVOUS. As recently stated by a democrat congressman that was asked "What would victory in Iraq mean to your party?"--and the democrat replied--"Well that would prove to be a BIG problem for us"

DEMOCRATS ARE INVESTED IN DEFEAT!

And they want to give amnesty to 25 million criminals.
