We always hear people complain and use the term separation of church and state everytime we see God is displayed in a government building. So after a little research and reading on this matter I THINK I found out the true meaning. It isn't against the Constitution to have god displayed in a building but it does have to be equal for all religions to have the same access to display there view. Where Thomas Jefferson lived which he was strong on the issue of having government and religion separated. There where four different types of christian religions. They all were allowed to use the court house as a place of worship because that was the only building at the time that could host alot of people. So the four religions would rotate so they had each one sunday a month to gather and worship. So government and religion go together as long as all religions have the same access as your religion does. I would like to hear other peoples views on this matter as well. but lets keep it civil please.
