You forgot to add that people have a tendency not to like people who "aren't like us". This is true of many things, including many stupid things like "not talking like us" or "not wearing the same clothes" etc.

Sexuality is a major part of people's lives, and thus something where one could be "really not like us", hence the hostility to people who practice a different lifestyle.

Not saying this justifies it, it doesn't. But that is probably the main source. Most other excuses are merely used to explain this impulse.

Well first off there is this HUGE guy in my gym class, he looks like the terminator, and now i believe is "one of those guys who thinks some guy might come on to him so hes homophobic". In the beginning it was just footballs, baseballs, and kickballs being thrown (and he got most of the class to join too), then it was verbal like " get out of my gym class you fuckin dike" and then we were all playing tennis and he was walking and suddenly swung his racket and hit my in the face. Right above the eye, it broke blood vessels and the blood went down twoard my eye. The eyebrow part though, where he hit me, is still swollen.

So... Yeah. anyone else have a story??

Well, he could also be the type that likes to torment puppies. But its probably one or the other :-)

i just don't get it though, i know individual people have reasons for not excepting certain groups. It's horrible to do, but i know it happens one way or another. There is no way to stop it. What I'm pissed about though and what i dont understand is how my High School refuses to fund or help us. When i told them what happened to me, they did absolutely nothing, and when (i know it sounds corny, but my friends told me to join) the Prism Club wanted to take a trip to downtown chicago for a "gay convention" or when we wanted to raise money for the Day Of Silence they wouldn't let us.

I too love Women. Let me know when you meet them... They'll be the ones laughing in your "genetic/mentally/ and/or sexually perverted face" when you approach them.
