No, they can't, because of the conservatives, Bush Republicans, Christian Nazis who have passed laws the are contrary to the full faith and credit provision of the US Constitution.

I am conservative Republican and I am would vote FOR gay marriages in any state that I live in. They are a committed couple and deserve all the financial and legal benefits that straight married couples receive.

Lets have an example there Mulp. Something that will prevent gays from facing the same community property laws as other Californians.

This is a group of Judges saying the voters decision does not count.
The Judicial branch of Govt. can NOT make laws, only the Legislative branch can make laws.
This will be overturned in the USSC and these California Judges should be impeached for violating the US Constitution.

How does it effect anyone, except for gay people, if gay marriages are allowed? It's a win-win situation. I just wish they would make it legal in all the states. But, then again, I wish they would make education and alot of other programs national.

Married Gays can dodge higher income taxes by filing jointly.
They can qualify for Spousal benefits, Social Security, employee benefits etc...
The divorce courts will be burdened with more cases, costing the taxpayers more money.
The purpose of the benefits of marriage were to promote reproduction.
Finally, marriage is a religious ceremony established by the Govt., this would violate the first amendment.

Marriage licenses are issued and controlled by the state. Therefore it's an issue for the state to settle, not the federal government. Now is the voters really want to ban gay marriage, their only recourse is a (State) Constitutional Amendment.

What will keep this same court from ruling a State Constitutional amendment is unconstitutional?
This will end up in the USSC.
