Sexual Chaos Theory
My belief when it comes to homosexuality is pretty simple. I assert that as we develop, there are thousands of variables that make up who we are sexually. Some of it can be genetic, some of it psychological, and the rest myriad factors from our environment that cannot be controlled.
The illusion that homosexuality is a choice springs from the fact that certain life events often seem prevalent in the lives of gay people; but it is faulty to think that these variations result in people having significant sway over what, when their sexual makeup is set into a dulthood, will be.
One example is that we have no idea what we will fetishize and what we will simply embrace. Take for instance the case of a child brought up in a strictly religious home, who is beaten every time he displays the lightest hint of homosexuality.
Possibility One, is that he embraces this harsh lesson. Pain=Bad. Homosexuality=Pain. Homosexuality=Bad.
Possibility Two, is that he rejects it out of hand. Perhaps in time he might reject his father. Or he comes to associate a link between Men, Pain, and Sex created by this situation.
The bitch of it is, you have no way of knowing what a young mind will do with any lesson, however harsh or mild its method.
Where I will side against liberals to a small degree in this, is that I do think it's physically possible to change your sexual makeup as an adult. It's just that I don't think that change is in any way desireable
It's possible if you go through one of those Christian conversion camps for instance, that maybe a scant number of attendants will ultimately come to reject homosexuality. I think it's rare, and I think a greater amount of psychological scars come from doing it, but yeah, it is physically possible.
As usual the bigger question remains why is it flat out wrong to be gay? I have never heard a compelling answer on this.
Perhaps someone here has one for me?

Well "Grey", as for ideas of why its "wrong to be gay": you might check out almost every post by the mad monk himself, posting here as "Razzputin". There are others with equally strong views, but for the most part they are just that "views".
Your post here is more or less accurate in that all sexuality is the end result of numerous genetic, pre-natal hormone ratios, and as you say environmental factors: this combination of factors designs sexuality to be a continuim and not an "either or gene"/"on & off gene" in sexuality development, there are hetero & homo poles on each end of the continuim, and much inbetween.
You are more or less right, it does harm to try to change a setteled orientation.
Above is not my "opinion", its what is reflected in the current body of the literature on this topic. But, there are many who say science be damned, and hold to the opinions on this tipic that are religiously inspired or just plain bigoted. Oh well. ...pjwky

Very good post, Grey. I think of homosexuality as one far end of a scale of sexuality, heterosexuality on the other far end with various degrees of bi-sexuality in between. It seems to behave very much as does the phenomenon of left-handed/right-handedness. Most are right-handed only, some are left-handed only and then you have those that can use either hand in varying degrees. Demonizing lefthanded people has not worked...we still have them. Forcing them to write righthanded thru threats, physical beatings, etc. only messes them up.
Nice to see a calm rational OP here for once.

Homosexuality is a MYTH! It is a funky name for a psychological disorder...a perversion....and now the perverts have organized to attack children.
Easy enough to stop.....get them on the trucks....get them on the trains.....get the faggots on the ships.....and then get them on the Island. Later we sell the Island to communist China.

scenario three: the child realizes the two scenarios and instead searched for an alternative based on any other social influence.
there is choice at every step. I feel like a non-religious approach to converting homosexuals would work a lot better. Telling them things like, just masturbate to men and think about them when having sex with women. I'm sure they dont recommend that in those church programs.

you can't change who you are attracted to. its impossible.
if attraction was a choice than everyone on here who is straight can honestly say, they could force themselves to like their sex. to feel attraction, desire, and to have sex with them
if we could choose who we liked no one would ever like someone who is abusive, mean, different from them, or not a good partner for any reason.

If children can learn to stop eating boogers, then fags can learn to be normal.

If you cant cure a pedophile, then you cant cure a fag, which is the same as a ped! They are one and the same thing. A pedophile is crazy. A fag is crazy. You dont shove things up your ass. You dont molest kids. Fags and peds are the same thing....you cant cure the ped.....you cant cure the fag....unless you use electric shocks and labotomy. Not a bad idea really.
Fags are absolutely desperate to get at kids. Fags will do anything to a child. They are an absolute menace to a child. I think we ought to round up all the fags and labotomize them all.

Hm. Do you believe all people who prefer strawberry ice cream to vanilla should be rounded up too?
Why is one preference insanity and another normal?
