Unhappy The Sad People

I have been reading a book by John Pilger- "Freedom Next Time". Has anyone else read it? I would like to talk to someone who has more information on the 'Chagossians', the people who were tricked into leaving there homes and now live a life of memories and sadness.

Come on people, there has to be someone out there who knows about this. I am really keen to get as much information together as possible or even just to know that someone else knows the plight of these forgotten people.

Cool diago Garcia- U.S. base moves Creole tribes out

I think you, OM probably were refering to the removal of the Creole tribes by the U.K. for placement of a huge American base there.

Itey got a court decision in London that allowed them to return. The UK is, or has looked into appealing the decision.

Yes it was a dastardly thing to do to those people. It is easy to research the topic, simply web search for Chagossians and it comes up.

What do you wnat to discuss about that, or is it simply a slam?

Okay, the chagossians were initially stolen (approx. 200 years ago) by the french and taken to diego garcia to farm the sugar cane and coconut oil for import to the british and americans. When they were finally allowed their freedom they chose to stay where generations of their familis were buried. They were living peacefully until they were conned and tricked into leaving their homes, most with nothing but the clothes on their backs, purely for the the U.S. as you mentioned.

I have actually tried researching them and found the information available to be severely lacking. I just wanted to know if anyone out there could point out a few sights for me to look at?
