Iraq and Afghanistan exist in the real world, just like the US. External pressures and influence is a fact of life. When the US was in its infancy, Great Brittan and France had enormous influence. As painful as it might be, remember that Saddam Husein was the dictator of Iraq just 6 years ago. Let's look at this realistically. Iraq and Afghanistan are way ahead of the game in only 4 years.
