The ham which is served as bacon in Canada.
And it is odd that those little hams would have such a name. "Bacon" is the cut, specifically thin sliced brisket - no matter if it is pork, beef or mutton. Canadian bacon isn't brisket and therefore isn't bacon.

You mean peameal bacon then because my bacon, here in Ontario, comes in strips as well. Peameal bacon is more expensive and considered more of a treat than a staple. As far as I know, ham is ham. It either comes in a roast cut or a steak cut.
Thank-you for clearing this up as I had never heard of 'round bacon'.  |
