Default Just a sign of the times ...

The Dems are out-fundraising the Reps 2:1. Both Hillary and Barack set records for fundraising in the first quarter.

Seems to me the only thing left for you Reps is to take to the hills and wage a civil war.

>>>Nah, I'm not particularly happy the money plays such a big role in our politics. But as long as those are the rules of the game, I'm satisfied with the results.

Money to any of them is bad. IT should be eliminated totaly. Even when the money is in supprt of things I agree with. Like the NRA. More money more corruption, and they are all corrupt. With the money gone forign policy would change. Look at the money to Isreal if thatb lobby was gone you wouldnt get half the support you get from both parties for the IDF murderers

Rudy Giulliani only raised 15 million. I had a feeling he would not be able to win his primary. Mitt Romney is the top Republican fundraiser with 23 million.

>>>Government-supported elections??? You're not ever going to get Republicans to support that. But I'd support just about anything to get rid of AIPAC.

Big money democrats? If that's true how will they be "in touch" with the working man? Seems to me they are beholden to the special interests that are funding (buying) them...much like their republican twins.

If I am willing, as a private citizen, to give money by whatever means to the candidate of my choice why is that a bad thing? Everyone on the left screams about the NRA but what about the NEA? What about the American Medical Association, or the Association of Trial Lawyers or any of the other left leaning lobby groups. All of those get their money through private individuals. If, as a citizen, I can't support my candidate how does that make it better for me?

As far as fund raising for all candidates is concerned its early yet. You people act like the election is in two weeks rather than in 20 months. We may all convert to Islam by then and decide to appoint a Caliph
