I can't really see any of them winning the general election, though that disappoints me because I love the heck out of Gingrich, and he would be my first choice if I thought he could win.
I think Huckabee could re-establish the GOP back to its roots and rightfull place. He would be kinda like a Clinton Republican minus the Adultry. Huckabee is probably the right choice if Republicans want to bring back the Reagan Democrats and stand any chance of getting back into the W.H. in 08.

In fact Huckabee could be the dark horse on the Republican side, he isn't as polarizing as Brownback and Rudi G.

Just my opinon.

bluedog, rob, Dom1 you guys don't seem to realize that currently Rudy is:
  1. Pro-Abortion and has been his entire political career.
  2. Is Pro-Gay rights, even participating in the NYC Gay Rights parade SEVERAL times
  3. Has admitted to, and taken to the cleaners for, cheating on his wife.
First, by definition I don't think I can even be considered in the relgious right. Secondly, I do realize what Giuliani's stances are and I could care less about gay rights. Meaning it is not an issue to me. If they want to get married what do I care. I definately do not like his stance on abortion, but aside from appointing people to the Court that will change it, I don't know how much influence a president actually plays in that issue. As to cheating on his wife, it was never an issue for me with Clinton or anyone else. It isn't like I condone it, but I am sure that many powerful men have cheated on their wives. Some have admitted to it and some haven't.

I don't think there is any candidate out there which a voter will agree with 100%. Is there anyone you agree with 100%? Rudy will lose some votes from the religious right (I think they will stay home - not cross over), but he will get some cross-over vote. Especially if the Dems shoose Hillary Clinton as their candidate.

I agree about Huckabee, although for some reason Rudy's charisma carries him through. I am not sure about how polarizing he is.
