Fort Bragg, Fort Stewart, Fort Campbell are the ones I can think of. I am not sure the dates that they were built.

There have been hundreds of books, essays, monographs, articles and other research done on the causes of the War of Northern Agression. Since the North won the war it has all been distilled to SLAVERY. This forum cannot teach the unteachable.

A few of Nathanbforrest45's truths
(1) The War Between the States was not a civil war, the South did not want to take over or change the Union, it wanted out of it.

(2) The War Between the States was not initially fought to free the slaves. It was fought between of economic conditions imposed on the Southern states by the Northern industrial states.

(3) Slavery would have eventually died out because of both economic and moral reasons

(4) Its time to strike the colors of the Confederacy and pull down the flag.

Thats all I am going to say on the subject

You forgot one Rob. The most important one. The one that trumps everything, including running for/holding office. You vote.

In all liklihood these forts were established as training bases for the Spanish-American War or WWI- long after the army had left the South.

Reconstruction ended in 1877 and the South regained full-control over its internal affairs- to the point that southern bigots were free to ignore the Constitution, namely the 14th and 15th Amendments, thereby making the former slaves and their descendants 2nd class citizens without the right to vote and without the right to due process of law. But, yet the South was unable to write any books, essays, monographs or articles to explain its cause?

BTW: What specifically did the North do to the South that violated the South's states rights?

2006 was the 1st national election since I turned 18 in which I did not vote and this was because there were no candidates worthy of my vote. But, the quality of the candidates is not sufficient cause to consider secession or rebellion.

I told you several post back there have been hundreds of books etc regarding the South's position. I also told you that was my last post. If you want to continue to believe this was entirely the fault of the South and was entirely about slavery you have the right to be as ignorant as you wish. I certainly will not stop you

flaja, I think you need to answer this question for us here. Do some research, ie google or others and see what articles you can find and read about the civil war.
