Default What Will the Impact of the VP Debates

Personally, I think she probably stemmed the bleeding and gave McCAin a shot at a real come back with a debate win of his own or other bold move. She kept them in the game.

She did alright, but it is time for them to start quoting Democrats who constantly blocked regulating Fannie and Freddie.

No one can answer that question although I don't believe the polls are as big a thing as many others do. But lets see what they say in the next couple of days. Here is a prediction those shown on MSNBC will show obama jumped ahead and FOX will show Mccain jumped ahead wow what a suprise.

Yea, I'm puzzled by that one. Even a nice B Clinton quote for them to use.

Also, it's easy to point out where McCain has vocally disagreed with Bush. I guess they're afraid if they point those out they'll alienate Bushies. Well, time to do something bold, call out the disagreements, criticize Bush where due.

Team Obama/Biden are effective at sticking to their attack McCain by attacking Bush. They're running a better campaign right now.

I disagree.

I think this VP debate mattered more than any other VP debate in our history of VP debates....... I think people will walk away from this knowing more about Sarah, and who she is. On a level that mattered to the people, not the mod, or biden, or the press... I think she did a good job... We'll just have to wait and see.

Normally I would agree with this about a VP debate, but this may be a bit different because of things like this thread below.

Palin dragging down McCain

Although, in fairness, Upton isn't exactly a great gauge of what is true and what isn't.

The immediate reactions to the last debate (Obama/McCain) held true for the few days and Obama did gain in the polls...yeah, these are only polls but we are in this partilular thread talking . The point is that the immediate reactions look like Palin did better than expected but Biden looked even more creditable than before with his knowledge and specifics. There is no reason why this would not vary in the next few days. To me this reduces the debate to about sum zero and service goes back to the top of the ticket with about 30 days left. Palin can still hurt McCain more with dumb answers (she is still a 'movie star' in this), Biden will fade back into a obscurity where he won't matter but in the battle ground states that matter.

Unless Obama makes a giant mistake (this can happen, still two debates) or McCain's people have pics of Obama robbing a grocery store of having an affair then Obama/Biden have a solid shot at this.

Dow was down another 300+ today and that does counteract gains in this debate, does not help McCain/Palin.

I think the debate was pretty close and the VP slot won't make so much of a difference because of that, however, Biden drew some blood on McCain...I look for the spread to increase for Obama in the days to come.
