I agree that she kept him in the game or kept the boat from sinking. She did better than many expectations. I actually suspected she'd do well, she did not surprise me. Where she was ALSO consistent was in not being very specific. Also she winked a LOT!

I agree that this debate has a bit more relevancy than past debates, I think it's a combination of times, gender, unknown & McCains impulsiveness in this election. I think she hit some of the core base issues & held her own in presentation & style but in substance she was consistently evasive. Though nowhere nears as vague as the Katie C. interviews.

...hard for me to say. I saw some of that but it didn't pop out to me.

That is true. Though I think the McCain camp gained getting some water out of the boat, I cannot say it will still not ultimately sink. I don't think she brought enough to stop the slow leaking of the McCain/Palin ship.
& a lot of that is for the VERY same reasons that the VP debates IS more significant. specifically, it's a combination of times, gender, unknown & McCains impulsiveness in this election that ultimately keep rocking his boat.
I don't see that she turned that around. She may have lessened the rocking.

Why did McCain's campaign decide to pull out of Michigan, before the VP debate?

The real loser was the media, and pundits. They did everything they could leading up to the debate to destroy her, and to show McCain's lack of judgment in selecting her.
The filters she was viewed from were SLN skits, which feed to the neurosis of the the left, and to some is reality. The other filters are the interviews on ABC and CBS. Carefully edited clips to meant to distort. Yesterday we read on this board comments saying that McCain should have known of Ifill's book, and essentially suck it up about an Ifill, bias. The left has created their own mess.
All Sarah did was go out speak outside the filters, to "we the people", and connect. The way I knew she would do. Another example of why the media has it wrong.

More Trouble for Palin
It appears Sarah Palin cannot hide from the controversy. The list of scandals continue to grow. Sex and lies seem to be a prominent part of here lifestyle. Check out this website and you will not believe what you see.

Are you stupid?.......I'll give you a minute to think about it ....forget it, I'll answer for you...YES.
Filters????? Was there filters on her answers? She couldn't answer what the fuck she reads. She couldn't answer a supreme court ruling ( how about Exxon valdez in ALASKA).....edited clips....you're a fucking moron.
News of the book was released in late July and the debates were agreed upon awhile ago so , yeah McCains ignorant campaign advisors should have known.
Palin spoke as if all republicans are dumb and live in trailers and you idiots ate it up....."oh, shes just like me..... Its an act, dumbass. That she doesn't have to answer real questions. did she even stick to the the topic at hand last night....not to often. Too busy dumbing down America and winking like she had some sort of nervous twitch.
Unlike Mr.Biden who spoke from his heart and stuck to the issues and answered the questions

I agree with you. She talked as if she were talking to a class of elementary school children. Her winking and flirting with America doesn't endear her at all to me, infact it insults my intellect for her to use tatics so obvious to throw off listeners to what she really is saying about issues or not saying or not answerering. Times are just to serious for talking point only politicians. George Bush was also hidden from the media when he first was put out there as a presidential candidate just as they are doing with Palin.Theres a reason for that and its not because main street media is the bad guy here. It simply because thinking without handlers and prepaired statements show them to be less informed than the right wing media wants us to know. My guess is if she had any follow up questions she would not have answered them at all or blamed the mean ole media for questioning her first response if she had a hard time answering the question. I would have liked a more substantive debate so I could tell if Palin was just reciting talking points or could she really go back and forth with tough questions.
What really really concerned me the most though was her wanting to expand the role of vice predsident. She proved to me to be a very cocky ambitious young lady without alot of knowledge to back up her claims. You know thats a dangerous combination and we have seen it before in Bush.
