Default CNN: Palin Wipes Out Obama Bounce !!!!

YOU GO GIRL!!!

August 31, 2008
CNN Poll: Obama 49, McCain 48
Posted: 08:00 PM ET

From CNN Deputy Political Director Paul Steinhauser

ST. PAUL, Minnesota (CNN) — On the eve of the Republican convention, a new national poll suggests the race for the White House remains dead even.

A CNN/Opinion Research Corp. poll released Sunday night shows the Obama-Biden ticket leading the McCain-Palin ticket by one point, 49 percent to 48 percent, a statistical dead heat.

The survey was conducted Friday through Sunday, after both the conclusion of the Democratic convention and McCain’s selection of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin as his running mate.

A previous CNN poll, taken just one week earlier, suggested the race between Sens. McCain, R-Arizona, and Obama, D-Illinois, was tied at 47 percent each.

“The convention — and particularly Obama's speech — seems to be well-received. And the selection of Sarah Palin as the GOP running mate, also seems to be well-received. So why is the race still a virtual tie? Probably because the two events created equal and opposite bounces — assuming that either one created a bounce at all,” says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

You know this poll has got to eat at the "Barry/Plugs" ticket. Say nothing of how the "in the tank" mentality from CNN. To be this close at this point was not to happen.

In looking back at 76 when Ford left his convention trailing the Jew hater by 30 points. And lost by 2 points in Nov.

The dynamic was similar in that 2 yrs removed from Watergate, and Nixon resignation. Plus a divided Party as Reagan nearly defeated Ford for the nomination. The libs were hoping Republicans would abandon the party, and this would be a blow out. Since they have invested everything on the concept that America hates Bush, in ways that we would have fond recollections for Nixon. Well they missed that.

I think suspending parts of the convention is good for the GOP. What McCain will miss in coverage, he will get credit for his call to suspend, while Bush/Cheney Jindal Barbour and the adult governors in that region show they are up to the task.

All Barry and Plugs can do is, "me too, me too".

What you two Republican Meat Heads are forgetting is that these polling companies have not and cannot develop or find a mechanism to call CELL PHONE USERS!!! Cell phone users use their cell phones as their only mode of communications and don't own land lines.

These polls we are seeing right now are coming from land line phones. The voters who make up this segment of voters are predminantly in the age group of 45 years and older.

Cell phone users have doubled/nearly trippled since 2004. And the age groups of cell phone users in 2008 range from 18-30!!! And this voting segment of the population are more likely to vote for Obama....and they are not polled by polling companies, b/c these companies haven't figured out how to call cell phone numbers. This includes CNN any major polling company out there.

So at this point the polls are skewed b/c of the cell phone factor.

I think the timing of naming her, the morning after the Apollo Speech, started this trend. It sucked the 02 out of Barry and Plugs. Now McCain will get an opportunity to show how he would handle an emergency, by suspending some of the convention won't hurt meanwhile Barry and Plugs are stuck in some diner in Youngstown, OH.

Sorry, but most young people do not vote. Anyway this right after the dnc only up one point! LOL! By the time this week convention done McCain will have a lead. Also I found the polls and RCP to be very accurate during the primaries!

We'll see. But to be this close is amazing since this was to be a cake walk for the libs.

No one said it would be a cake walk for Obama to gain the W.H. National polls are a joke. Obama is also back up where he was before his vacation, so it's not as if much has changed. 270 is what you need, not a higher poll number in a poll. I believe they can do it. They took down the Clintons following the rules. No doubt they will do the same for McNopoly.

Everyone who has a clue knew this was coming. Come on, Obama looks like a fucking political weasel, and a complete idiot for choosing Joe Biden as his running mate. I wouldn't be surprised if McCain wins this thing by a landslide before it's over. And, Obama can't blame anyone but himself, and all those rumors about him letting other men suck on his johnson-which he hasn't even been man enough to stand up and deny this. Not to mention that he's not even qualified to be president. Maybe Joe Biden is there to take over the job when Obama fails or something worse. Then it's really going to be business as usual, because Biden has supported all of the Bush agenda. Obama is just full of shit about so called "change".

No just Republicans will be fired up b/c they have no choice. When your party is drowning before your very eyes....they won't turn down a life raft. McCain will only get a small bump as well.

The Republican's only hope after the RNC is to turn up the negative ads and smear tactics and hope they stick enough to gain 270 electoral votes and HOPE like hell the youth votes doesn't show up in mass.

What McCain has to worry about is Obama's 50 state strategy and to counter or deal with effectively Obama's plan to go after every state Bush won in 2004 by 5% or less! These are states McCain had planned to not have to fight for...but Obama will make him defend those states Bush either barely won or was able to take for granted and not campaign in those states hardly at all.

Obama campaign strongly believe they can win Virginia and make McCain fight like hell to hold on to Georgia. The little know secret about GA., in 2004 Bush won Georgia by just over 160K votes, but this win was despite the fact that over 300K illegible voters did not register to vote in 2004.

You can best bet that team Obama will get those voters registered in 2008 in time for November. You factor in Bob Bar the libertarian candidate could take away 6-10 percent from McCain.......suddenly now, Georgia could be up for grabs.

Now lets look at Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Iowa, these are the states Bush carried by 5% or less! All four states show a strong Obama vote. So it is going to get interesting thats for sure.

Point is, no W.H. candidate has ever used a 50 state general election primary strategy and aggressively campaigning in areas where Republicans are marginally weak until Obama came along. The of course if the youth vote shows up in mass...then we will all be saying President Obama. For the Republicans to say arrogantly or ignorantly the Youth vote won't show up, they do so at their own peril as a party.

Nothing last forever.....ya can't keep going to the well hoping the youth vote never shows up. 2008 just might prove to be the Year the Youth vote shows up and pulls the lever and vote overwhelmingly for OBAMA!!!

Republican voters will be going to the polls out of fear and paranoia, while Democrats will be going to the polls out of hope, optimism, and a feel for real change.

Obama has planned a 15 round boxing match type medifore. He plans to jab and counter punch his way to victory and apply a constant stiff jab to Mccain's face until his face becomes swollen and eyes are shut from the swelling. Obama beat Hillary methodically and he will methodically beat McCain in the same fashion.

I don't think the McCain campaign know what their running into come the fall.
