A great deal of attention has been paid over the last two years to President Bush's relatively low approval rating, which is mired around 30%. But, while it took President Bush around six years to drive his approval rating into the ditch, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi have achieved a far worse result in a mere year and a half. That's remarkable.
What's also remarkable is how the monolithic Republican't W.H., Senate and House colluded together and veto'd and filibustered much of the legislation the Democrats tried to get passed. This is what happens when you have slim majority!!!

There are currently in the Senate 49 Dems to 49 Republicants, with two independents, with Bush holding the veto pen of which the Dems would need 67 Senate votes to over ride. Also, the Democrats would need 60 Senate vote to over ride a Filibuster. Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you if there were ever a 50-50 tie in the Senate, guess who gets to break the tie? The sitting vice President.....that's who!!

So tell me Celtic how can the public only blame the Dems and Reid and Pellosi???? Tell the whole story why don'tcha.

So maybe the House and Senate leadership should learn how to actually lead, instead of just pressing for party loyalty. I would love to see the House and Senate both split evenly three ways.

I heard 75%. i'd like to see up there at 90% plus. then Pelosi and her storm troopers can start thinking about packing up and heading home.
as of the july 4 it breaks down this way:

49% of Americans favor environmental protection, even if it means slowing economic growth
44% of those surveyed place the economy as their top priority, even at the expense of the environment
73% favor more offshore drilling for natural gas and oil
