Hey Upton If Lieberman is a traitor for his stand on the War in Iraq, then why aren't the rest of the libs traitors for funding the war they claim is illegal, and promised to end if they took control of Congress in 06? Explain it Upton.

Of course Lieberman's approval rating is tanking.....as is the approval rating of every democrat in Congress.

In two years the democrats have managed to send this country into the crapper.......who would approve besides Stevie Wonder??

Yeah, like the Republicans did a swell job controlling Congress, almost exclusively since 1994, and the presidency since Bush took office. Such a good job, in fact, that they were unceremoniously tossed out of Congress 2 years ago. Which, if any of the projections are even close to being right, the Democrats are going to have an even larger majority in both Houses after the dust settles this Nov. Too bad Badmutha but, once again, the Republicans have become the permanent minority party.

Record high tax revenue....even while cutting taxes

5 straight years of uninterrupted job growth...also a record

Record highs in the stock market.

What horrors......

Hi Badmutha,

Record high tax revenue, record highs in the stock mark, and record jobs....are they typical or atypical for any given administration? If you look at those metrics, haven't they always been primarily on the increase...maybe with a few down turns every now and again? Put it this way, Badmutha, if an 8-year Administration failed to make any one of these claims.....something would be drastically wrong....right? So, I don't know if I would trumpet those accomplishments too much...they are only expected. If Obama is president for 8 or even just 4 years, I bet the stock market, job growth, GDP, tax revenue, etc. all hit record highs. Because he will be such a good president....no, not necessarily. It's just the way it is.

Well, not very well, oh bad one....although I'm not sure it was all that great in 2006. My two big concerns....1) debt - both national and personal and 2) a growing disparity in the wealth distribution.

just like you Upton. when yer buds jump ship, you want to hose them down. but when you want to jump from the skillet to the fire, i say so be it. i guess that means when yer buds jump in the fire WITH you, and one tries to crawl out on his own, you just yank him back with you. misery loves company.

Well Norm....in a way I would agree with you....as somethings would seemingly be inevitable with a growing country....BUT....its not always where you end up....you have to consider how you got there.

For example...I gurantee the democrats--if empowered-- will rake in record high tax revenues....but it wont be due to tax cuts....it will be due to the largest tax increase and government expansion in history. Hence...the government will also "create" jobs......by means of inventing them out of thin air.

Well lay your money on the table....and I will collect in 2012. If this country elects Barrack (dont call me Hussein) Obama...the #1 Liberal in the US....and hands an overwhelming majority to the democrats in the House and Senate.....then the things you "Expect"....might not be so apparent as they have been in the past.

When what you expect becomes what you crave...chances are your up to your neck in liberalism

Well even if you say 2006 wasnt all that great.....then 2008 would be considered what??.... Disastrous?? Horrendous??

2 years of a democrat controlled Congress...imagine 4 years of of a democrat controlled Congress and the #1 Liberal as president.....I hopefully wont see you in the bread lines.....but if you are....make sure you and your fellow democrats go last....because you voted for disaster.

Hi Badmutha,

If the Democrats gain control of all three branches of government, it is likely that taxes will go up....I agree. However, is that a good thing or a bad thing compared to what we are doing now...that is, living drastically in the red? I'm ok with raising taxes, Badmutha...in fact, it's likely unavoidable. But, if a significant chunk doesn't go towards the debt, then we will have problems.

I don't know, Badmutha...I think history argues against you on this one....just look at the Johnson years. He was probably the most liberal president in history and the Democrats had large majorities in both houses....and guess what...the economy was actually very strong in the 60s.

So, I take it you blame the recent economic down turn on the Democratic Congress....what a surprise. I've seen a couple of those "who gets credit/blame for the good/bad economy" between diehards from the left and right....they are a riot....
