'Reputable Poll' is an oxymoron.
Something like 2/3rds of voters do not decide who they are going to vote for until the week before an election. And a lot of them change their mind at the last moment. It is human nature and, unlike us political junkies, the majority of people do not have the time to worry about this stuff until the election is close. Heck, even the exit polls that had Kerry winning AFTER the voting were wrong.
It only makes sense. How do most Americans approach what they are going to have for dinner? Does anyone here plan their meals months in advance? Nope...except for the more clinicly insane in the crowd.
